Toyota Estima stolen from workshop

Looks more like the workshop send to another workshop for the engine repairs and they have dispute so now the owner can't get his car back.

Maybe they workshop cannot pay the other workshop the spare parts repair and hence the other workshop don't want to return the car?

 

That might explain the long waiting time, going to the other workshop and wait for the spare parts?

A check with other car mechanic shows that they are BMW and Mini Cooper parts. Though used, they're worth $1000 over dollars. Seems to me my car was used to transport car parts.

Hopefully, the car is safe for driving. Will only know when LTA gives me the green light to drive on road.

Feel for you but feeling even more relief for you. At least the car can go back on the road with some minor rapair on the dent now that your nightmare is over.

The culprit still has your car key. So now you need to decide whether the car is still worth keeping or not. Or maybe you should change the number plate.

 

As for the car parts, you can sell off and use the proceeds to fix the dent on your car.

Thanks Davidtch. Looks like I might face the same issue with 2.4 liter engine. Plenty of roads in NZ is with steep curves, hill, and climbing up and then slopes...
