Ivan_06 5th Gear May 8, 2019 Share May 8, 2019 (edited) You should have negotiated Budget to compensate you the 5.5k and scarp the car. To up $20k and get an new Accent (Understand that time, Accent was $71k. ) So, - Money paid for your 2 cars= $90k + 20K = $110k - 13 years usage. - Assuming end of 2nd car 10 years, you get back S10k (total PRAF rebate + body value). Depreciation = (110k - 10k) / 13 years = $7.7k per year vs holding on to your old car = (90k - 10k) / 10 years = $8k per year. Are you aware I am driving the 2019 avante which I bought at 67k? Now pound wise, penny foolish. I am using AXA and no longer budget direct. Traded in my accent already. Bye bye budget direct. calw Clutched May 10, 2019 Share May 10, 2019 Just purchased BudgetDirect insurance. As I was getting it for a 11years+ car, so went for 3rd party, fire and theft. Total cost: around $870 after all the discount and stuffs.. I compared with FWD, directasia, ntuc etc its really cheaper by $200-$300 for my case at least. I have 0% NCD as previous drive wasnt under my name . so for my 3rd party premium is high .. those with NCD easily half this amount.. Sharing my BuddyID just like I used one over here - Buddy72484 All the best in your car hunting!

Slyison 4th Gear June 6, 2019 Share June 6, 2019 Hi everyone, I am currently insured by NTUC income and my insurance is going to due in less than a month. The premium offered by them is $580++ (under 3rd party fire theft). Came across this thread and went to budget direct insurance to get an online quote for the same plan as what I took up with NTUC.... it turned out to be way way way cheaper than I thought lol (only $298 ) Very tempted to switch over haha!! My question now to all guru is whether should I write in to NTUC to cancel my insurance or should I just leave it as it is and let it expire by itself? As I am only left with less than a month, do you think should I write in to cancel (get refund if possible)? Details: Policy expire date : 3rd July (policy start date 4th July to 3rd July 2020) NCD: 50% for more than 5 years License held more than 10 years with no claims made at all. Many thanks!! I have never cancelled a policy unless I was selling that car. Really no point since the refund is always lower than you might think it would be. With less than a month remaining on your policy, what makes you think there'll even be a refund worth the trouble? If it's less than 20 bucks would you bother? Plus I have no idea how it might be reflected in all those hidden computer fields they have on you. Maybe you'll be considered an unreliable customer who jumps ship, and your premiums may be less advantageous next time. I have no idea, but what we have in Singapore is effectively a cartel, so it's always biased against the consumer. Plus there's the extra hassle of having a policy that's out of sync with your road tax, which you'll now need to adjust for with extra cover either now or later. I would just let the NTUC policy auto-expire and go with Budget for the next period. I don't think there's an auto-renewal mechanism in Singapore (with automated GIRO or CC billing) so there should be no risk of "accidentally" renewing with Aunty Lucy. Ni9htshade Neutral Newbie June 28, 2019 Share June 28, 2019 (edited) I bought mine too with BD after long consideration. Had been with Direct Asia for 2 years, they din offer attractive loyalty discount for the renewal. Dun bother to call back also. BD on the other hand followed up closely and answered all my doubts and questions patiently. Since CEO the same, so I think the terms and coverage more or less there. I like the customising part where u can choose what u want to cover esp, “driving in Sg only” cuz I dun drive to Malaysia. I had a workshop that I strongly preferred too so.. after adding that still $200+- cheaper than those popular insurers like NTUC etc and even Direct Asia. Overall a good experience so far. I think if u have high NCD, a good record and usually drive safe. Can try going with BD. ☺️ Paying forward ❤️❤️ Sharing my discount code here Edited June 28, 2019 by Ni9htshade
Ni9htshade Neutral Newbie June 28, 2019 Share June 28, 2019 (edited) Sorry can’t seem to edit my post above. Just wanna add that. I added on the NCD protector too. Still cheaper than Direct Asia renewal code, which comes without NCD protector, come with authorised workshop. **Not paid to give comment here** Paying forward ❤️❤️ Buddy76915 Sharing my discount code here Edited June 28, 2019 by Ni9htshade
