Watwheels Supersonic January 28, 2018 Share January 28, 2018 Sounds like a very ignorant question. You are an individual vs an organisation which deals with not just other individuals but various dept to deal with different matters. I'm sure you work in a company and know what it's like. You are not that efficient either to make things happen instantly in the company. I dunno why ppl take it so personally and as though the world revolves only around you. Sure, nobody likes to be fined but it happens in various parts of the world, not just Singapore and there's a reason for it. ↡ Advertisement 2

With the experts and top brains, i think it is fair to say our people expect them to have higher standard and better processes than most private sector. True. That is why the employees give vague statements. Sometimes they really don't know. BUT NO ONE SAYS those things I wrote so your point on not letting employees say that is moot. I say those reasons based on my experience when i was in managment or in a position to observe them but of cos i dont tell my clients that. I give vague statements. Sometimes they believe in under promise over deliver. So they say three months but given in two months cos supposedly that increases satisfaction. Higher standards? Not too sure how much more efficient they can be without compromising anything cos I am not insider. I will say their pay (of the top, rank and file might literally earn peanuts) should be coming down instead. If our efficiency is on par with USA, let's say, they should be drawing roughly same as their USA counterparts. If they earn 10x USA pay, they should be 10x more efficient. Not sure how to be 10x more efficient, though so the pay should come down instead.
Ahbengdriver 6th Gear January 28, 2018 Share January 28, 2018 They are very efficient. When they want do or change something, raise taxes. Even sell herbal drinks and tea eggs also need licern, and thats means tax lor. Heard Havard U is doing a case study why Donald Trump neber follow this pattern. Not I say one har. Just some people say I heard only.

Not sure if the civil services top rank job was designed like that. Common sense, if you are purely money motivated, find the correct place. Did we have too many money motivated people there? I should have put have put a full stop after the "of the top. Rank and file might literally earn peanuts" instead of "of the top, rank and file might literally earn peanuts." The top rank salary should be closely tied with the real work, focus at their core business, look at how to improve the road quality and ensure reliable MRT services and especially those real meaningful core areas, not on those wayang and fanciful and decorative ones. So I am not sure why I got away and my fren did not. Maybe your friend had warning before at the same place? Btw, did you 2 exceeded at the same speed? Many years back, me and my colleague were on upper thomson road rushing back to company for a meeting, ended up I got fined and demerit points for speed above limit (21km/h in excess) while my colleague only got warning letter for doing 19km/h. So we were joking that someone need to test out 20km/h in excess to see if it is gonna be a warning letter or fine with demerit points At lornie towards farrer road, also got a warning letter before (88km/h).... so it seemed like the tolerance for overhead bridge camera is: -excess of 10km/h -> love letter? -excess of 20km/h -> fine and demerit points? Last time, most or all expressway has +/- 10km/h tolerance but now probably 5km/h with the better cameras?
