jjandyy 4th Gear January 23, 2018 Share January 23, 2018 The problem is the version sold in Singapore is pretty bare, more utilitarian style than lifestyle, comparing to versions sold in MY or Thailand. Over the years, manufacturers have been trying to make pick-up trucks to drive and handle like cars or SUV, adding a lot of new techs from the part bins and designs of passenger vehicles, to make pick up trucks a lifestyle vehicle. But in Singapore, these trucks are used as commercial vehicles and imported as such, so if we buy to drive as daily car, cannot really enjoy much. Jazz 2nd Gear January 24, 2018 Share January 24, 2018 Some of them are real monsters... the Ford F150 Raptor, for instance, is a giant pick up truck which has 450hp and goes from 0-100 in something like 5 sec... I prefer Ford F250 Raptor more.
jjandyy 4th Gear January 24, 2018 Share January 24, 2018 By the way, our very own SCDF Red Rhinos are also built on the Isuzu Dmax pick up trucks. Saw a few of them being converted to Red Rhinos last year...
Tohto Hypersonic January 28, 2018 Share January 28, 2018 unfortunately pickup trucks are not popular in SG, other than at construction sites... It just don't make sense to buy one here. High price, speed limit of 70km/h, only driving in urban city.... In thailand can see it very popular, but mainly mid size from the japanese brand. DACH Supersonic February 7, 2018 Author Share February 7, 2018 The 2019 Ford Raptor Ranger Is Your Diesel Off-Road Performance Truck Dream Come True https://jalopnik.com/the-2019-ford-raptor-ranger-is-your-diesel-off-road-per-1822794130 FACT: more pickup trucks should have performance versions. And while other automakers lack the COURAGE and MORAL FORTITUDE to offer us true Raptor competitors, Ford is giving us MORE RAPTORS. Meet the 2019 Ford Raptor Ranger, the truck that brings factory off-road awesomeness to Ford’s smallest truck. And the one we’re finally getting, too. The new Raptor Ranger was unveiled today at a press conference in Thailand, and Ford took pains to say that what you’re seeing is the Asia Pacific market version of this truck, which makes me assume the one North America will get could be slightly different somehow. (At the very least, our steering wheel will be on the left.) But! This baby Raptor packs an all-new twin-turbo 2.0-liter diesel inline four (yes, two turbos) with 210 horsepower and a whomping 369 lb-ft of torque. That’s a decent amount more power and torque than the 3.2-liter turbodiesel five-cylinder the Ranger uses across the globe, and that much torque should get it moving nicely. But power’s only part of the equation. The Raptor Ranger has an assortment of improvements for off-roading, including Fox Racing Shox dampers, dent-resistant composite fenders, an integrated tow bar with tow hooks, BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires, the F-150 Raptor’s off-roading modes, and a new 10-speed automatic transmission. “Vehicle stance is noticeably bigger from every angle, standing at an impressive 1873mm tall, 2180mm wide and 5398mm long, with wider front and rear tracks at 1710mm. Ground clearance is increased to 283mm, while the approach angle of 32.5°, ramp over angle of 24°, and departure angle of 24° as a package are superior to anything seen before,” Ford said in a news release. SUPERIOR TO ANYTHING SEEN BEFORE. If you see people crying today, those are Chevy people, and they probably have lost any reason to live. @Mustank

DACH Supersonic March 5, 2018 Author Share March 5, 2018 (edited) 2019 GMC Sierra: New look, a diesel option and a bunch of trick new featureshttp://autoweek.com/article/trucks/2019-gmc-sierra-new-look-diesel-option-and-bunch-trick-new-features#ixzz58sWoRr46 GMC introduced the next-generation 2019 Sierra pickup on Thursday at an event in downtown Detroit. The truck gets a bunch of cool new features, a new diesel engine option and a carbon fiber composite bed. Not bedliner -- bed. We’ll start there. Later this year, GMC will offer the CarbonPro carbon-fiber bed box. The company says it will increase the durability, efficiency and functionality of the truck, and that it will offer best-in-class dent, scratch and corrosion resistance. It’s 62 pounds lighter than the steel version to boot. With that, plus aluminum on the doors, hood and tailgate, the 2019 Sierra is up to 360 pounds lighter than the outgoing model. The next big new thing™ also has to do with the bed. Standard on all Sierras will be the MultiPro Tailgate, which has a fold-out portion that can act as a step, table or cargo stopper, depending on the situation. It’s sort of hard to explain, thankfully GMC sent us this handy little YouTube video to explain. The whole package is good for a best-in-class 63 cubic feet of cargo space in the short box. Oh, and that cutaway piece in the tailgate is 48 inches wide in case you need to slide some plywood in there. As for engines, buyers are looking at the 5.3-liter V8 that made 355 hp last year, the 6.2-liter V8 that made 420 hp and a new 3.0-liter I6 turbodiesel. Outputs for 2019 haven’t been revealed yet. The 6.2 and diesel will come with a ten-speed automatic; the 5.3 will probably get last year’s eight-speed. The look is new, obviously, and a big departure from its Silverado cousin. The front end is tall -- like at your shoulders tall -- the grille is larger, the head and taillights are new and the GMC logo is bigger. The pickup is larger in every dimension and the wheels are pushed further to the corners. Inside, the Sierra comes with a higher seating position than last year's, a new head-up display and new materials, including dark-finish aluminum and open-pore wood. It also has 3 more inches of rear seat legroom, with best-in-class front head and legroom. Buyers also get a new infotainment system, standard navigation on the Denali, a surround-view camera and GMC’s new ProGrade Trailering System. The system includes an app with a pre-departure checklist, maintenance reminders, trailer light test, trailer electrical diagnostics and trailer tire pressure and tire temperature monitoring. An extra camera in the back watches the hitch as you connect to a trailer while side cameras help while backing up. All of these features make the 2019 Sierra easier to drive, easier to park and easier to use and live with every day, which seems to be the direction the pickup market is going. People use these vehicles for far more than work, and Ford, GMC, Chevy and Ram seem to know that, offering features that make pickup truck ownership easier than ever -- even for the novice.
