VICOM / STA sticker

The only 2 test that work are the side slip and the brake test. Everything else is useless! The people running the test are just as useless!

The vehicle engineering at LTA is just as useless.

Someone posted in Facebook that vicom refused to pass his S2000 because his rear number place did not have screws to screw it down. It was double side taped. It’s funny that they think that double side tape is ok to hold the much heavier IU with less surface area for the tape than a plastic license plate.

I guess they just wanted to find an excuse to fine him. There were 2 LTA engineering guys there and when questioned what rule was broken, they also hem and hawed!

Don’t know if they dare to put stickers on someone’s Bentley or RR or those $1m++ cars - the owners damn particular 1; Wait later they will bill the inspection center for special removal charges from car saloon restoration blah blah blah with lawyer letter..... this type of owners all daring one

Same as some car distributors like C&C who vandalise the rear windscreen with a “Serviced in 2018” sticker on your windscreen which sticks like superglue leaving sticky residue when removed.

Guess just a old legacy to paste the sticker majiam "signed off" whenever complete a job.

 

I tear it off on the spot and throw outside the bin after I collect the paper cert.

Just had my car inspected at Vicom Kaki Bukit. 

 

No sticker.

I sent my wife's car for inspection yesterday

I thought I kept an eagle eye on the car during the last two stations

didn't see anyone act suspiciously at the back of the car 

today I was shock to see that #$*@#@ "Vicom Tested" sticker on the rear windscreen 

either

1. they are so confident with the car, pasted a pass sticker before it completed all the tests

2. vicom sent their guy to my place in the middle of the night to paste that sticker

next round I want to lock my eyes on the back of the car from the first station to the last one, without blinking

Don’t go vicom. I only go STA at sin Ming after 6pm on a weekday. 15mins was my fastest from the moment I stop the car to get off to register and pay till the time I hopped back into the car to drive off. 
most importantly. NO BLOODY STICKER!! 😀

the last time I went STA Sin Ming, the guy said front window glasses too dark

it was huper optik flim by C&C

I told him the inspection before no issue

he said solar film will turn dark over time under the sun

I said I only know people skin will turn dark under the sun, everything else will fade under the sun

he said if I can peel it off on the spot, he will let me pass

then show me - "your choice" face

I left, drove to Vicom nearby and passed

same solar film same day, two different sets of equipment, which one is not calibrated? Vicom or STA?

Clearly this guy has power trip issues. Think his twisted logic is the law and it's his way or the highway.

I really hate going there 

ironically, I need to go vehicle inspection centres more often than average motorists 

my wife disagree, she said it is because I have a guai lan face

I would have written in to LTA Vehicle engineering and complain. 
mine was the opposite. A pinoy inspector at vicom sin Ming said my exhaust was illegal. Cause the muffler had a tacked on serial number. But mine came from factory as such. It was an old car. Then later on the supervisor let me thru. I challenged them to fail me cause I would have written in to LTA engineering. I had proof from various websites that the car came like that. I said if you fail me I would complain and take down your names. No way am I going to pay the inspection fee twice.

Just remove the sticker that they have paste lo. I always remove it after i left the place. Lol.
