With Sensing at least it can help a bit by giving me ALERT. Example, when cross the lane marking steering wheel will vibrate. If front car stop and I drive too fast, it will give me ALERT, if I dun slow down and getting too close, it will apply brake for me. If after fully stop and the front vehicle started to move, it will give me ALERT ask me to move. Full auto cruise control, front vehicle slow down my car slow down, front vehicle pick up my car pick up till the speed I set. He already paid for the car, must sell flower say flower nice smell. 96K.. alot of PI could match that with sensing somemore. Really kanna owned big time ↡ Advertisement

People who hasn't tried sensing talk alot of the negativity. I suggest you join the fb group to see what people said about it. In my opinion you overpaid your car for the lack of feature. Not just a feaure but tons of it In that case, overpaid. Also, i didnt know your "own" sensing can avoid people from crashing into u... Is like buying car for the same price with no seats. Well, you get the idea.. if not then too bad. looks like there is more negativity here than anywhere else. But then again who am I to judge right. I'm sure the millions of cars with no honda sensing out there now are crashing like raindrops on the pavement right now. I might have gotten a bad deal according to you, but you don't see me complaining about it as much as you do. I rejoin this forum after years of not driving and finally, I thought that... hey, let's talk to people who appreciate the car as much as I do. But if this is what this forum is about, then i think i should be saying goodbye and good luck people. i don't need extra negativity in my life. What we are trying to share is - you should put your $ to good use. For the same amount of $ you can have something better, why not right? We are here to share the benefits of it and help you make a better decision with your purchase. But if you take it extremely negatively - because you assumed we are negative, then... great purchase. Spring Moderator October 1, 2018 Share October 1, 2018 The continentals have equivalent of Honda sensing earlier than the Japs n if u look at the bigger picture, I believe it’s a good to have and definitely a plus compared to not having at all. The only possible negativity on this is that like all electronics, there is a higher chance of it breaking down compared to mechanicals so possibility of inconvenience sending it back to workshop is higher compared to a car with less electronics. Of course, abit of heng suay as in any purchase. So if u like technology, I suppose worth getting but if u old school then perhaps doing without the Sensing would be the better choice, my 2 cents.....

Also, we have not talk about ACC and etc. I don't think the non sensing vehicles comes with ACC, LKAS, RDM, TSR and etc. More details here: https://automobiles.honda.com/sensing Everyone has a tendency to support their own position. E.g. ADs that carry models which don't have Driver Assist tend to downplay their usefulness; PI who bring in Sensing cars are more likely to talk good things about it, etc. I like the concept of Honda Sensing and other Driver Assist technologies myself, but to each his own. In the specific example you mentioned, Sensing may not help much, especially if its requirements are not met. CMBS requires you to be travelling at a certain minimum speed before it activates. False start suppresion is intended to help if you mistakenly step on accelerator while there is an obstacle in front of you, and may not activate if a vehicle hits you and makes you move instead. I'm also not sure if it's safer for Sensing to apply the brakes to prevent your car from crashing into the car in front. If your car hardly moves or moves less, the impact energy is divided by shorter distance meaning that the force applied to occupants body is greater than if the car moves a bit more. Even if you end up hitting the car in front... you still get to claim from the car behind right?

Wrong then. In conclusion, drive safe and hopefully others will follow too. Sensing or not is just one additional defense for everyone (driver, passenger, pedestrians, etc). You may like or hate it. No right or wrong. Thanks for info on FB page. If you're right, you're right. No need to keep editing lah. Can you kindly quote the specific part(s) of my post that your experience tells you is wrong? Normal consumers would be crazy to do controlled tests of the crash mitigation systems, including taking note of the speed they are at in order for the system to activate. I trust you did not do this? Sensing requirements I have indicated are based on Honda website/manuals and I can point you to them if you'd like. My point is not that crashing into the front car is good. Of course not good! But my point is that spreading the impact energy over greater distance and time = less force on you, and that is good. This is also the principle behind crumple zones. Better to sacrifice the car than the occupants. You can also think through this (don't recommend actually doing it). You are standing, and someone pushes you from behind, hard. - if in open space, you stumble a bit, turn around and slap the person. - if there's something that prevents you from moving.. say if you are one cm away and facing the wall... Ouch. After all this, I have to repeat that I'm a big supporter of Sensing and driver assist technologies. It's the must-have feature I'm looking for. But at the same time, do be aware of it's limitations. Honda, Toyota etc websites list many situations where they may not work as expected
