COE Bidding – 1st Round of January 2018

Just curious...the reason for 3 days COE bidding but the actual "actions" only start on the second half of the 3rd day. 

 

Action is on the 3rd day, last 3 hr, main actions start 3pm. LTA should run COE bidding every Wednesday, once a week, instead of 2x a month. This will balance out their workload and cut waiting time for buyers. Cut waiting time = reduce risk for buyers.  Spool can run toto 2x a week, why LTA dont ?

My guess is CAT A - 35K ad CAT B is 45K to attract more people to purchase car in upcoming motor show

It's strange why bidding becomes 2 days event.....so hard to get rid of COE?? Or LTA want more crowd to push COE higher?

yes, i see wrongly the dates. it is tomorrow.

but seems one CAT confirm up again - CAT D Motorcylce, since by today bids received reach 200

Historically speaking before motorshow COE will normally be higher due to clearing of backlog orders from low COE Dec month.

But due to coming CEVS surcharge, many ADs are absorbing it, thus their profit margin are taking a hit. It must comes from somewhere.

 

My prediction:

Cat A: $37,000 ~ $39,000  (Plus minus 1k range. Not over $40k)

Cat B: $44,000 ~ $45,000 (Take the most hit I guess. down 2k to 3k)
