Jetstar flight delayed for 8 hours

Due to bad weather at HK side, flight delay to sg and ended the same flight also got delayed from sg to hk.

Really cannot believe how stupid and inconsiderate some people are.

 

Because of the argument over a phone, they delayed everyone for 8 hours and now got themselves into hot soup with the police.

I also recently delayed by scoot for 6 hrs due to engine glitch which the ground crew is currently working on. Delay hour by hour.. Damn.. Travel insurance dont pay for the delay in home country.. At least for the one i bought. I was swearing for half a day when i knew i cannot claim..

depends on T&Cs of the insurance lo. if i'm not wrong, travel insurance coverage only starts when you step out of SG...

I thought so too.. But they even took out the clause to show me then I LLST.. Learnt my lesson.. Will read the clauses carefully before I purchase.

To be fair to airlines, if its weather-related delay, really boh pian one. Can't expect them to take off in a thunderstorm or blizzard right ? I once sat inside an SQ plane for an hour at BaiYun because heavy rain came just as plane was cleared for take off. 

 

If possible, book flights that are just point to point. Not those that travel over 10 hours and multi stops ones.

 

I took KLM to Bali once. Both times flight delayed. Flight is a long loop with multi stops Amsterdam - Singapore - Bali - Singapore - Amsterdam.

 

Read from another forum the UA flight from HKG to SIN also encounters delays, especially during winter, the flight starts from Chicago.
