Dleodleo Twincharged December 22, 2017 Share December 22, 2017 Not just on looks, but on taste too. Just make sure you donât get unripe ones (common with this type of durians) Three years ago, I ate these durians almost everyday in Sabah for Chinese New Year (February)and one usually cost no more than RM3 for a durian (wet markets and roadside.) If you go to Sabah or Sarawak next time during new year, there should be plenty of this durian ( not as if overflowed) and if you do not have a car or time to travel to find durians, the best bet will be in the city itself (of course no RM3 ones) Does it taste like durian? Brass 6th Gear December 22, 2017 Author Share December 22, 2017 (edited) Does it taste like durian? Not very like durian (durio graveolens)It’s very dry ( never wet) that eating in large amounts can make you get sore throat It taste...unparalleled and it’s smell is less than of normal durians (durio zibethinus) Btw,I have. never eaten the red one before as i can’t find fresh ones (all cracked and tonnes of flies on them ,still selling at RM15/kg?! Victor68 Turbocharged March 17, 2023 Share March 17, 2023 It seems to be durian round the year. Last time was twice a year. But with more plantations, you get fairly good predictable durians. Last time you have to depend on luck or skill. 😆
