Raubern 6th Gear December 12, 2017 Share December 12, 2017 (edited) Welcome to PW2 Teck Lee LRT station, the station that remained shut for more than 12 years since the Punggol LRT system opened in 2005. Situated on the west loop of the Punggol LRT, trains supposedly pass by this station without stopping, as seen in the video below. The station seems to be somewhat rundown — covered with dirt, looking fairly weathered. Even the map in the station is the really old version. I guess it will take another decade for the station to be opened https://mothership.sg/2017/12/teck-lee-lrt-not-open/ Edited December 12, 2017 by Raubern ↡ Advertisement
kdash Supersonic December 12, 2017 Share December 12, 2017 this LRT station was probably built in anticipation of future residential development around the area, but nothing happened after 10 years...

I always thought punggol very new since there are still so many new BTOs being built. If the station remained shut for 12 years without any maintenance, think many things in the station should be spoilt liao.

Yeah, Punggol is old, Sengkang as well but these are still "slums" in many peoples' opinion.

Watwheels Supersonic December 13, 2017 Share December 13, 2017 Maybe typo lah. Planned: "To be built in the year 2020" but typo error the year become "2002". Or maybe it's cheaper to built it 20years ago.

Or maybe it's cheaper to built it 20years ago. I guess only LRT at punggol would build first and leave it there to rot for decade. Others MRT line, you will notice there is a skip of station number, and yet you do not see any station being build together with the current line. There are few MRT station, they build residences first than station. Like dover and canberra.
