I think Ubin is still too early to be developed for housing. But in theory, its workable as it is SG and under SG laws, but means SG pricing too.

i went to check it out a few times.

 

funny thing is , they say all present unit is sold out.

(3 month back i think)

 

alot of building and sand refilling is still going on,

 

got guards at the entrance, but still free to go in .

 

i seen some malay family going in to enjoy the facility.

spoke to a taxi uncle last week, he say the local would buy if they can afford. they say got potential

With that kind of prices, unless all the civil servants has a pay adjustment similar to Singapore, the take up rate going to be dismal.

There seems to be plenty of happy stories of retiring in JB.

 

And while the going is good, there are ample supply. So prices are quite low.

if for retirement, i would rather retire in ipoh or at least slightly further than jb like muar or batu pahat

if for daily commute 5am come spore to work and return home by 10-11pm, then no choice JB ..
