Mzrmazda3 6th Gear November 24, 2017 Share November 24, 2017 Bought a 5 year old 2nd hand ride with 25000km on odo with full agent service record previously Throughout the usage of 3.5 years, other than those general servicing and replacement of the rear wheel bearing with 2 front shocks, it gives no problem until I sold it off at it's 8.5 years old with an odo reading of 104000km ↡ Advertisement
MotoristMel 1st Gear November 24, 2017 Share November 24, 2017 Personal opinion, I’d rather have an older car with lower mileage. Higher mileage just means that your car is driven more on the road and can potentially expose your vehicle to wear and tear. Lower mileage means the car is not used that often but then again, you need to double check because sometimes the dealer can tamper with the mileage so you won’t know if the lower mileage is genuine or not
KrakenC Neutral Newbie November 25, 2017 Share November 25, 2017 Saw this discussion elsewhere on the Internet so thought it interesting to ask here. Assuming same (or similar) car model and asking price, would you rather have: An older car (by 1-2 years) with lower mileage OR A newer car with higher mileage (Leaving aside things like tweaking odometer and etc. Let's presume mileage is genuine and legit) Definitely lower mileage, the car doesnt actually degrade by sitting there. screonlan Neutral Newbie November 26, 2017 Share November 26, 2017 I will take newer car with lower milleage, but the milleage needs to be reasonable. I have ever seen a 1 yr old car, with 80k mil. This one, I cant accept.
