actually my wrist also hurts since i pick up badminton, hence wearing a brace to protect/support it.

tentatively, we try to book regularly, for leisure purpose.

probably one or 2 more weekends, we will stop for CNY.

usually a small group, as we play double, 4 players on court while max, another 4 resting.

purely for leisure, not money making session..

Is the badminton session still on going after cny?

I wore those wrist brace when i was young too, but at that time was cos thought it was cool and was not really injured. I tot it was more for wiping sweat, and didn't feel it'll accord any protection leh. Does it really help?

I started to do some arm/upper body exercise from last month onwards, as the wrist was feeling better. But just before CNY, could feel some strain again, and I rested it just in case.

Really  [bigcry]

Dunno when then will be trouble free again...

ok, the 4 play, 4 wait is a good number. More and the wait can be too long, and fewer might mean very tiring if not the fit fit type.

those wrist brace definitely helps..

go for the adjustable type, it provide better protection.

For us, this is a must have when we played.

well, we could organize a game and play for leisure.

you need to start off somewhere otherwise the body and mind will stay stagnant and rigid..

I think you're right there... with age, the body is becoming less obedient and does need some prompting. Even the mind also will try to corroborate with the body - then whole person becomes very inactive  [sweatdrop]

anyone got contacts to secure courts for weekday games?

apparently, the poison of badminton runs very deep.

My wife and i are very into this sport, plays 3 times per week and now, even to the extent of engaging coach for improvement..

My ACL surgery, probably will delay or stretch until my knee gives way.

My usual group, are dying for games..

We camp every day 7am for courts, went for those 'commercial' games etc..

all i can say, badly poisoned.

A, somehow secure 3 courts, each courts packed with 16 players.

1 pax at $8, providing inferior birdies to maximize the profit.

A court at peak hours is around $17 for 2 hours session.

In additional, A does this full time and comfortably, makes a living from it..

well, from time to time, they will indicate the level.

beginners are detest and not welcome.

Usually they prefer mid beginners or intermediate.

Don't ask me how they classified that but usually will state upfront.

Of course, when the host is desperate, beginners also welcome.

After all, it's money making.

no singles, only doubles.

normally fast games are around 15-20mins, 1 set of 21 points.

if you are lucky, you manage to play 6 rounds.

Last week, only manage to play 4 rounds in 2 hours..

my friend even worst, as she is a beginner, she gets to play with a kid..

yeah. we had the stamina as we did tabata before coming to badminton..

but our skills are poor.

badminton, apart from stamina, you need good footwork, it really helps and conserve energy
