Congrats! Surprise got ready stock

Thanks!!

seems like Skoda is trimming the options and/or reducing discounts to turn better profit... later buyers may not get such good deals

Was informed that its only available to those that adopted the rs245 really early. Discounts wise I wouldn't be sure as I haven't been intensively tracking the price of the rs245..

Believe the rims being referred to were the 1st and 2nd batch 19" that were stock to the rs245. The batches after were all 18" gemini. Pretty sure the geminis look nothing like Lamborghini rims.

It was far from what the 19" looked like. The 19" looks grew on me the more I looked at it. I also understand that some don't really like it. So if any bros happened to switch it out for custom rims, do let me know.

Saw the newspaper. Skoda Octavia 1.4tsi Ambition is now 99.9k.

Changes I could see was only the VES Banding. Now B instead of C1 from the 1.0TSI.

Money-wise, it means Skoda charges 15k more for a bigger engine, and on top of that, save 10k from tax. Revenue per Octavia now increases by 25k. Of course, I think they might have changed some other things apart from the bigger engine to justify the 15k price increase.

Was told by SE that Skoda won't bring in the 1.0tsi anymore, likely because of the negative VES banding. Sounds like a case where they were clearing old Octavia stock hence the lowered pricing in the recent months.

All of us who bought the 1.0TSI at the 85 to 90k mark, good for you!

The 1.0TSI is really a good buy, Congrats to all who has got the best car deal in 2018.

Booked a steel grey rs245 today [:p]

Was told that no more "Lamborghini" rims, which is tad abit sad.

But still, impressed with the interior space and performance of the ride.

ETA can receive the new ride before CNY [drivingcar]

Congrats.

Recently test drove the RS245.

Drive is good and punchy but wallet says no.  [:|]

Lol... precisely nobody can confirm. People are only giving their own opinions and sharing their own experience which is what i am looking for in this thread. I don't for a moment undermine this brand at all but just want to know the experience from people who handle this brand or Octavia currently or before in particular.

I am not sure why they say about korean cars. Even I don't own one before but I can definitely see their evolution till this day and would say they are very competitive. Why do you say VW is jealous?

Personal experience since collection on 04 Jan, the 1.0TSI octavia is definitely perform better, equip with equivalent or better accessories than any of the Japanese 1.6 Sedan within 90 to 100kSGD.

2nd day driving. Feels so much better in handling and power to my previous 1.6 cruze

Probably the Japan/Korean newer models at this price point have some new features, but have to agree that Octy's drive experience is good even though I didn't test drive many cars before [:p]  but quite impressed. To the extent that i joined the family [drivingcar]

Maybe left the colors that nobody wants. Eg, electric green.

If those color nobody want, ask for 3k discount, buy then go for full wrap..

If you need to go grooming, be sure to do Ceramic coating.. can last at least 1yr before doing a top up..

I actually thought of that, knowing how limited stocks the RS was, and may not be getting the color I want, fast.

But if that ever happened, I would have just waited.

It is kinda silly spending so much money on a car, only to send it out to get it wrapped in another color.

Like settling for 2nd best, because cannot wait.

My wife got a name for such people, its called "kongkum". lol I agreed with her perspective.

The cruze was overweight, and underpowered.

It made a 1.4 single charge jetta seem like a drag car.

I had the impression the cruze was turbo charge?

The earlier models of the cruze was a 1.6 NA engine.

They only came out the turbo versions after you know, my comments above.

One of my colleagues was the unfortunate owner of one, totally regretted his buy, wanted to sell it just after 3 months.

To be fair to VW, my last experience was in early 2015. After that, I've been going to Servotronics at Sin Ming for the annual servicing.

After that, I think in 2016 VW launched the fast service and "clinic" on Friday mornings.

are you a regular at servotronics? used to go there for the golf 7. plan to go there for in between servicing. lucky there dont have 2 hour cool down.

My current sights are set on the vwr r600 cold air intake for its stock look and design.

And seeing the turbo muffler delete, along with some other mods need to be intrusive.

Will plan all engine mods to go in together, instead of making a visit for each and every mod.

Most workshops outside have those big industrial fans.

Usually I make my workshop appointments early, first in the day.

And I come in early, wait for them open shop eat their breakfast.

Just nice cool enough to do oil change, I will be out in under an hour.
