I do encourage P6 students to go for the open house. Listen to the principal talks if there's one. MOe has allow some  autonomy to sec schools so some of the neighbourhood schools are offering applied subjects.

During the open house for DSA we went listen to the principal talk.

He recommended applying to 1 instead of many multiple schools.

 

We believed and followed his advice.. Then knn.. Never kenna.

 

A parent friend in the school told me that their quota prob filled already.

 

Should have casted the net wider..

Sorry to hear that, But most Singaporean being kiasu will apply afew schools. But not too many till it stress out the child.

Once accepted via DSA by a secondary school, no changing of school allowed even if actual scores are better or worse.

 

BTW, RJC doesn't exist anymore. It's now called Raffles Institution (same name as the secondary school).
