i know of two local couples who split right after the wedding dinner !!

 

and for both cases, the guys were seen with another woman the night before.

One of my Customer (he is the boss AND just started business 2 years back ) in his early 30's got married to a Korean girl whom he met whilst in Aussie. Got married recently (about 3 months back) she got a 3 year LTVP ; Staying in a condo (about 900 sq ft in Loyang bought @ $900 psf) Wife is doing some cosmetic or fashion stuff which i dont understand heads or tails about it); Is the spouse supposed to be able to work legally ACTUALLY with LTVP??  

 

LTVP can work liow ... 

 

the sequence is like this :

 

work permit - restricted to the employer who apply

SP - - same as above but high pay !!

LTVP - suka you want to work anywhere also can

EP - same as above

PR - same as above

 

* LTVP is shorter term than PR.

actually you'd be surprise that the number is not really that small .... its just that the hainanese ppl are highly adaptable to other dialects ... like i will always speak hokkien to other ppl.

 

but when i am walking around i will hear a lot of people talking among themselves in hainanese.

 

as hokkien is perceived to be the majority dialect group, most ppl will just speak to each other in hokkien first without realizing they are actually of the same other dialect group !

One of my friend use to tell me what kind of girl he like. Must be sophiscated and whatever. End up, he came across this tomboy and also married happilly..... 命啊。Haha.

the other couple, the guy used to own a pub ... but business failed soon after ... and then became a manual worker.

Stupid question : why not a local girl ?

 

i was at chinatown point one day with my family when i stepped into daiso.

 

right beside the entrance, a young courting couple were looking at things and talking ... as i walked past, i heard the girl telling the guy " don't expect me to wash your clothes for you" ...

 

cfm local girl.

Marry for what?

 

One marry to cheat for a sale of a property of the in laws.

 

Another marry then got looked down by wife and get cast away.

the property agent is a bloody cheat. cfm and chop .... even intro a china girl to another guy and the girl ran off with 20k after the wedding !!

 

as for the pub owner case, the girl is a good girl - its the guy who got itchy and then later lost everything. she even asked my boss to help him also but he really cmi !!

Very difficult to bring a foreign wife here if she doesn't have a degree. My cousin married an Indonesian woman. She couldn't get PR. Always on LTVP. Even after they have 2 kids, she still on LTVP. No PR.

Buy one la.

But in my life, the classes I attend, the department I worked with, the tour group I travelled, it always I am the only hainanese. So the sense of minority for is there for me. Only once I had a hainanese classmate in sec 1. Still keep in touch til today. He happens to be happily married to a Filipno, and stay in Thailand as a pastor/missionary, running a free school for refugees.

Simple answer. Cos Singaporean girls I feel are materialistic and/career driven. BUT MAINLY ALSO I hope to retire in a village one day and lead a simple life with maybe visa runs or something so I don't think I can achieve that with a Singaporean girl.

you have already had your thoughts, next is to narrow down one or two idea locations for retirement and decide if girls from those location make a good wife.  You have to be aware of a few things.

1. the girl who marry you, after staying here for a few years, may not want to go back to live village  life with you any more.

2. the location that you choose, has to be a laid-back place  and  has no chance to be redeveloped by the local government too rapidly, otherwise,  when you retire 20 or 30 years later, the place may no longer be  a village. 

3. you need to also be prepared that  your plan may change by then, especially when you have children in future, whether you want to unroot your family and bring your children there ? while you may be able to enjoy a carefree village life,   how about your children's education?  are they able to adapt to village life like you are ?

So all considered,  you need to have a plan within a plan. 

 

 

of course, other than location, make sure you choose a sui sui girl to be your wife.

Very difficult to bring a foreign wife here if she doesn't have a degree. My cousin married an Indonesian woman. She couldn't get PR. Always on LTVP. Even after they have 2 kids, she still on LTVP. No PR.

 

like i mentioned earlier ... no textbook process to getting PR.

 

i am guessing maybe they just throw the names into a raffle box and the draw the PR winner !!  

 

anyway, in my case, my wife got her social pass extended with the help of the ICA officer ... and that gave her just enough time to get her LTVP. Next she applied for a WP and the WP superseded her LTVP.

 

her first application for PR was rejected when she was 3 mths pregnant ... we did not know then and did not include that in the declaration.

 

however, i appealed two months later with this info and surprisingly, two months after my son was born, we received a letter saying she got her PR !

 

*my wife not high flyer ... english one piece one piece ... and worked as part-time sales assistant with work permit.
