Travelled to Rio earlier this year.

Almost took my life...

Should have scheduled a 1 day transit next time to explore Dubai or where ever.

Actually I DO consider being an U/G driver once I got tired of working for people.......

Not the kind of person who worries about face so I don't bother about the label.

Bro Phil,

I think you should go out there and do whatever you like best, beside bringing in the dough and nuts, you'll meet all kinds of ppl, like wise, Im considering driving U/G, coz driving iOS my passion

Never say never because limits, like fears, are often just an illusion.

My bro started his own ice cream shop in Hawaii at 48. Uprooted his whole family over.

A lot of tough work as everything have to manage himself. No slacking. Made his own ice cream, waffle cone, etc. Besides the shop, he also have to find a house and manage the family, kids education, etc.

I am here now and I can see he put in a lot of effort.

So age is not an issue. It's whether you still have the drive (and capital of course) as you become older. In fact, when you are older you have more real world experience as compared to when you are young and brash.

Have seen those ASK who get $100-200K from their parents to start a cafe business, which was the in-thing and cool.

Within one year, closed down liao. It's not just using the coffee machine to make latte or cappuccino. There's a lot more work such as manpower, managing customers, sourcing for ingredicents, marketing, etc.

Thats good to hear.

2 yrs ago, i also thought of moving to Hawaii.

Get a house on Diamond Head on the main Oahu island facing the ocean.

Retire and do some simple stuff.

Did some research

But i didnt have the guts.

So Am glad to hear that somebody else from Singapore did it.

Please send your brother my warmest regards

And congratulate him on taking the path least trodden.

It would be nice to meet a fellow singaporean in Hawaii when i go there the next time.

Give him a Shaka Hand sign!

I am sure he did considered for a long time too. He had planned for this shop at least 3 years ago.

I am sure with your finances you can do it. Why not in the end?

It is really tough. Luckily your bro's is ice cream. Other types of F&B is no joking matter, esp if you do it on your own. Cooking at home and cooking for 100 people are completely different . Hard lesson here [sweatdrop] . Have to keep improving things.
