Honda Vezel - Part 3

I'm considering buying the Vezel Hybrid RS and was advised against it because of the maturity of Honda's i-DCD gearbox (dry clutch) and the number of recalls (due to electronics/ software isuses etc) to-date for the hybrid version. I believe the last recall (number 4 or 5) was in early/ mid 2016 but there was none thereafter. The other concern I have is the hybrid battery - I've heard from the grapevine that the battery pack in the Vezel does not operate optimally even when the car is new. Is that true? I'd appreciate any advice and opinion from folks in this forum, especially those who are current owners of MY15/ MY16 models. Need to know what to lookout for and which dealership to buy from - afterall, post sale service is another criteria/ concern in my decision making. I won't consider the 1.5 CVT variant due to the lack of driving engagement. Many thanks in advance.

Its because the Econ button was engaged. Power deliberately cut off to conserve fuel.

You cannot go wrong with this car in term of performance and reliability. what other feedback do you need? i think the rest is about design which is subjective. 

 

I would have considered it also if not for the numbers on the road. The other minor issue is PI or paying more for less if I buy from KM

Hi guys, a friend just bought a vezel hybrid 2 weeks ago.

The car would sudden lost power while cruising (foot on accelerator pedal)

He required to release pedal and re-accelerate again.

Any advice on what could happen?

I just received mine. Engine a bit loud but fuel consumption is very good.

My only complain is that the display panel on the right of speedo is in Japanese(no way to convert to English). So need to refer to utube to learn how to do the settings.

Can be frustrating if you do not know a word of Japanese.

Also you will need to get to know the car well so as to know what all the symbols mean. Honda sensing can also sense the speed limits on some of our roads and a little icon on the display panel  on what is the speed limit of that road will pop up.

To be honest, other than the lightweight, thin metal and too many on the roads, this is a fantastic car in terms of reliability and FC. Performance wise nothing to shout about. The 129hp is heavily undermined by the cvt. Hybrid will be better. Safety is my concern though due to the above mentioned.

Normal... mine makes that noise. And so does the other vezels that I have observed.

Have to get used to the noise either from the engine bay or the boot area due to poor sound insulation.

 

Even the slightest sound from those areas can be heard from the cabin. Initially I also thought something wrong from those sounds, now already "seasoned".

sat in one vezel for uber from airport to the west. the boot area was creaking along the expressway and the driver was going at around 90kmh only.
