My family is scared of cold as evidenced from my recent trip lol.

Anyway I wasn't specifically getting this for skiing. But wanted the 3 layers as needed for snow (fleece + down/shell) or zero deg temp.

Anyway it's pretty affordable on taobao. So just like retail therapy.

From what I see of those prc ski clothes (滑雪服) , it's waterproof shell with fleece lining like you said.

Just that need the waterproof pants (suspenders seem quite common feature for ski pants).

For adults, it is worth investing in down jackets (goose down if budget allows) especially when they scared of cold.

@Lala81 last time I skied, just wore a fleece and outer gore Tex shell. Enough. Never felt cold. Surprisingly not much wind on the mountains. Plus the exercising helps to keep you warm. Wear too much and then you will sweat like crazy. And if you take it off, cannot really ski with it.

Similar to running or cycling in winter, one will feel cold when stationary.

When stay moving, one should feel warm when moving.

That should be enough.

Yeah. But haha the cost of skiing quite exorbitant for the skiing lessons. Even in like the more 冷门 areas.

The lift pass and hotels and ski lessons all add up.

Japan ski pass (at least in Niseko) actually OK compared to US (I heard). Ski lessons expensive though but young kids maybe can learn fast 1 day can liao!  Hotel no choice.

I skipped lessons during my last trip.

All these very easy to get from taobao. Just whether you want to buy.

Decathalon also can get. They tell you the temperature range. TB is a lot cheaper of course. Buy wrong also no heartache.

Don't forget the goggles and helmet. Probably cheaper to buy than rent.

Macpac is the other one and is good value if you go down under because it's much cheaper there

I use this one for my casual less cold conditions

Down jackets, the main thing is the maintenance. Like washing it and drying it properly. Which is why I haven't bought one for long while.

I had cheap down jackets for the kids before from taobao when they were young. which i sorta ruined from the washing process. I thought air dry is better.

Anyway I bought one to try and to wash it and use dryer to see if it fluffs up properly.

Jeep is a pretty big brand in China so I think should be OK.

Yes. Lucky I have quite a lot of wardrobe space. I even bought large laundry plastic bags to store.

But down jackets are ideally hung instead of behind folded up to reduce the clumping of the feathers.

Skiing only for the rich man.

The ski pass still can be acceptable just like theme park entrance lol.

So much gear rental. Boots plus skis/snowboard.

The lessons are really expensive in particular. Few hundred for few hours if you non native.

yeah. but it will spoil the down. Cos within each pocket if they don't spread or fluff out, essentially it's not functioning.

Tell you something gross..

My classmates and  I went fishing and didn't catch anything for hours then I became a little seasick, so I threw up and viola, we caught a ton of fish... that night, I realised everyone was eating my vomit, hahaha

Aiyoh, better than my friend, they throw up an decide to go back. I KNN them upside down.

Then and again, we use to play trick with some of our friends who are trying to hold the puke. We will take water and pour into the sea behind the guy and make the sound. Then the guy will give way. Haha

didn 't bother, more important is to save space. Also bring it along for holiday can easily pack a few pieces into luggage.

That’s when we ask the girls to go to the bow and we pee from the back and make lotsa noise 🤭

but if a girls is willing to come with you to spend hours on a small boat and risk puking, she’s a keeper 👌
