1. for better bass: should i go for 7"-8" woofers instead of the 6.5"?

2. should i add an amp?

if you want to run 3-way, 3k budget is not enough.

 

Since ur Boxster has limited space, i suggest u run a 2-way passive setup with active sub.

 

there are some promo bundles by Foon Audio which meet your budget below.

 

 

Remember to do soundproof for your doors too.

 

other installers may have their own promo bundles. Audio Solution, Dimension Audio, Xtremez, ST Audio, Chuan Sing etc.

it's an active sub.

 

it will be placed under the front passenger seat.

 

i'm not sure if the boxster has enough clearance to fit though. best is you go to the audio shop for their advice.

estimate of the size of an active sub, is about 1 ream of a4 paper. anywhere u can stuff something that size.

Or if no space, consider asking the shops for components that can do a little lower, or kicks a little better

dont think about putting active subs in the boot/frunk. cannot hear de
