What Did You Makan Today Part 3!

$3/kg is cheap. Just bought from aunty lucy last week a @ #4.50/kg. (each seed costs about 80 cents) Giant @ $4.20 last Sunday!

I was quoted $4/kg, but as the one the seller recommended is larger than the other one, so I bargain (like a auntie) for lower unit price, claiming that I can't finish this big fruit by myself, so eventually settled at $8 for the piece, which worked out to be $3/Kg.

BTW, the other reason I dare to bargain is because I saw that they still have a lot to be sold, and most are fully ripen, cannot keep too long. Mine was in fact a little too ripe, as you can see from the photo.

Those sold at Giant & SS are much smaller (1Kg+/-) and not much meat. My worst record was to spend ~$7+ on a small one (from SS), and only 5 seeds (4 medium and 1 small size) in it, more expensive that eating durian...  [bigcry]  [bigcry]

Saw one stall at Pasir Ris Drive 6 market selling @ $4/kg.

Ya twice I encountered the same situation. Once from Giant and the recent case from aunty lucy. Aunty lucy one was supposed to be of better grade (small ones which are said to be from grafted plants). It turned out that there were only about 7 seeds from 2 fruits, and the seeds (not flesh) were very big! That was why each seed cost about 80 cents! [shakehead]

This is one of my favourite dishes cooked by my wife and it's rather popular with folks in the LCHF community.

It's called Cauliflower Rice.

It sort of tricks the brain that you're eating rice, so that helps people who are very into rice go low carb.

Cauliflower has quite a fair bit of nutrients, and this dish was fried with 100% extra virgin olive oil, prawns, eggs, and either bacon or luncheon meat. I chose luncheon meat today although it's sinful but I felt like having it hehe.

Topped it up with lots of turmeric powder for the added zing (not in pic)

It's so good, I packed some to eat as brunch tomorrow ð

#lowcarb
