Shorty Turbocharged April 11, 2018 Share April 11, 2018 Thank goodness VVD only wanted to play for us and not a money grabber. Also Southampton wanted to only sell to City to teach us a lesson and even offered to drop the price for City. Now we need to find another VVD to help VVD and another Salah to help when Salah is injured or rested. this is true. pool needs to get good backups. the team is really thin at the moment. no replacement for mane, salah n firmino. they do hv strikers, but at the moment ings n solanke not proving their worth. each of them need to score to get a gd run. CM mayb need only 1 more since keita is coming. CB also need 1 more as i don see klavan being ard long.
Daryllim69 5th Gear April 11, 2018 Share April 11, 2018 I thought Pep is a gentleman. Why talk himself into getting sent off? Pep had it easy at Barca. The best team in the world when he took over. At Munich he had the richest team in Germany. But Man City is a flawed team. Their defence is worse than ours. I think they tried to buy VVD. Lucky he only wanted to come to Pool and took a lower salary to play for Pool. Yes, I agree with the statement that Pep is a gentlemen and a graceful loser. Look at his post match conference over the two legs and how he congrad LFC over their wins against his team. JK is also a gentlemen and he openly acknowledge the fact that he thinks Man C is the best team in the world right now, not once, not twice but many many times leading up to the two legs. Both Pep and JK also considered each other as best manager in the world. Comparing the two to the Special One, I agree that the Special One is special because he is a sore loser whereas Pep and JK are graceful in victory and losses. Jamesc Hypersonic April 11, 2018 Share April 11, 2018 One thing Pep did really well is training the ball boys to send in the new balls as soon as it went out of play. It's the small details that count.
clasher 4th Gear April 11, 2018 Share April 11, 2018 Didn't watch the match but worked up 4+ so checked score and was so happy Pool won. Went back to sleep another hour+, and only watched the highlights. Will try to see if can find full match to watch tonight. Looks like we were under sustained pressure esp in the first half. Good that we came out tops. On the disallowed goal, read that it was for off-side, wrongly. This means that when Karius punched the ball out, the ref and linesman must have thought it was the City player (didn't notice who) who kicked the ball back towards goal where Sane was. Replay shows it was Milner's attempt to clear the ball, but it was a bad - or rather, awkward - clearance. So if the ball was played towards Sane, there is no offside, which is what Pep was angry about. A second 'mistake' was that TAA was not 'in front' of Sane to begin with, so even if played in by City player, it shouldn't be offside mah... Feel for City... But good for us - we deserved a break. Now that this quarter is done and dusted, we just need min 2 more games with Lady Luck (one of the semis so that we take a commanding lead, plus the Final) to end the season on a (v) high. Yup, but despite that, Sane was not behind TAA right? how come offside? If it’s played by a city player, it is definitely offside because the law of the game states that offside happens when there are less than 2 players behind the attacking player

Daryllim69 5th Gear April 11, 2018 Share April 11, 2018 Interesting photo. Of the 3 who seemingly left LFC for greener pastures, who you like and who you dislike. My like is Suarez. He left for Barca on mutual consent and in his last season with LFC, he almost won us the League title. After he left for Barca, he continued to show respect to the team which makes him a worldwide recognized footballer. Neutral on Courtino as he only left us not too long ago and no conflict of interest thus far as yet. While there were rumours saying that he is unhappy with JK's comments about LFC playing better without him, not sure if this is true. Even if it is true, no complaints to a player that has served us well. Dislike for Raheem Sterling. I see him as an ingrate. Not only forcing his way out of LFC distastefully, on the few other occasions where he plays against LFC, he went all out to prove how good a player he was. Nothing wrong with that really, but question is how he tries to prove it. My last straw was yesterday's game where he gave a horse kick on the face of VVD when challenged. This may cause serious injuries to the player. Saw at the end of yesterday's game how disgusted he looks and like a cry baby. Your thoughts, please.

Liverpool did play better without him. Liverpool tactics had been on fast pace.. he actually slow down the game. Not to say he isn’t important for Liverpool, but on the whole the team play better. He is missed only on game where we can’t play fast pace and the opponent defence is like airbus. Other then that. Couthino actually slow is down the overall play. So in short, he is only missed in match where we need individual magic. Unless barca change the system.. or change where he play, if not I believe we will start to see this problem in 2 years down the road when messi and gang retired and he have to take the leadership role. Gd players can join a team full of stars, challenging themselves to b even better n get that 1st team spot. diva players r those who joins only if they r guaranteed 1st teamer. This may cause serious injuries to the player. Saw at the end of yesterday's game how disgusted he looks and like a cry baby. Your thoughts, please. I would say there are many angles to look at. If we take away all the emotion, just ask ourselves honestly: if there is a headhunter calling with a job offer that pays much better, how would we react? Soccer is their livelihood, so we can't blame them for taking up a better job, as it would provide better for them and their families. But it is the manner surrounding their exits that creates/stirs emotion. Apart from what you've stated, it's apparently normal that ALL South Americans aspire to play for RM/Barca, so when they have a chance to fulfil their ultimate career goal, they will jump at it. So there is some... cultural (for lack of a better word) element behind Suarez and Coutinho moving to Spain, apart from the lure of money and titles. No such thing/excuse for Sterling's case. Suarez's case was also strengthened - or mitigated - by the well-documented case of his wife wanting to stay near her family, who has been staying in Spain. So there is family reason, and who in their right mind can argue that loyalty triumphs in the face of family? Before Suarez and Coutinho moved, they gave their all to the team, acknowledging that while they made the team (great), the club made them great too. Coutinho did throw tantrum at the beginning of the season after the failed move, but when the dust was settled, he pulled up his socks and gave his best. For Sterling, I only read that he was asking to be paid a lot when he was only good sporadically (and not consistently, like the other two), and i don't remember him playing his guts out for the team then. I guess the media will also try to feed the fans appetite, and we read that Suarez and Coutinho had flown back to the club on occasions and there were photos of players welcoming them, so that reinforces our feeling that the two are still cordial and not so for Sterling. Anyway, there is normally an acid test to their own feelings toward the old club: I dislike Benteke and Sakho a lot when they celebrated wildly after the former scored at Anfield, and won the match. This is disrespect to me. Yes, they might say they were treated badly but they were paid a lot of money when they were at the club. Suarez and Coutinho of course have little chance to face such a situation, while Sterling, having gone to a direct rival, has given him a lot of opportunity for this. The good thing is that so far, City has only beaten Pool resoundingly once, and once on penalty, since he went over - i think. Don't think he has scored before, has he?

We will remember Origi on form before he was injured in the Everton derby 2 years' back. I think it's because origi was given a number of chances last season to prove his worth, but he somehow could not reproduce the good form before that !@#%$*& everton defender took him out. and klopp doesn't have the patience anymore, so move him along, esp. as he's at the age where he wants to play regularly so as to stay in the national team. and along comes solanke, who impressed in pre-season, so was thought to be a raw gem that could be improved on when given the right guidance and exposure. Too bad that it's asking a lot of him whenever he plays - as it means must straightaway produce goals as he's definitely replacing a player who is scoring average once every game or two... so what pool needs is an already good and proven striker, as there's no opportunity at this level for him to learn and improve leh... ↡ Advertisement
