Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, on being sent to the stands: "I said it was a goal when the ball was passed to Leroy Sane. That’s why he sent me off. It would have been different to go in 2-0 . It’s different when Salah’s goal at Anfield is offside. It’s different when Gabriel Jesus' goal at Anfield is offside.

"In this competition the teams are so equal and the influence of refereeing decisions is so important. We’ll go again next season. Big congratulations to Liverpool, Hopefully they can represent England well in the semi-final."

What a gentleman!

so much love for PC ....  <_< He has moved on, so should the fans.

Anyway, back to the game. Just saw the highlights, woah first half practice session for ManC. This Sane is damn good man, give him a few more years with more consistency and ruthlessness this boy can be a Monster.

Eventually, Mo and No showed them how to finish  [:p]

What a game.

What a result.

As expected, ManC come at us with everything they got, got the early early goal that they wanted and basically pinned us back for a good 30-40 minutes.

We withstood the onslaught, helped by a combination of determination and Lady Luck.

Some of the challenges were questionable.

ManC hitting the post and having that goal disallowed was pivotal, as we would be in serious trouble had the scoreline be 0-2 on the night.

But once Salah got the goal, the body language of ManC players were evident.

Firmino rounded the evening with a good finished to make the scoreline a bit flattering on us.

We progress and a tasty semi final draw awaits.

YNWA

P.S. Roma did the “improbable” to beat Barca 3-0 at home and qualify for the Semis.

We have beaten city thrice this season!

if dun count the match where Mane got sent off, and the final we lost on penalties, i think City could replace Spurs (a few seasons ago), as Pool's favourite team to meet liao...

Now they fight with Arsenal to be top of the list for Pool to send Christmas hamper  [laugh]

pool won but played a bad game.

the team looked lethargic and was passive at best.

the clinical finishing saved us.

anyone knows why was the 2ng goal disallowed? Even TAA(?) felt it was a goal.
