Eug1388 6th Gear August 5, 2017 Share August 5, 2017 My take on the transfer episode thus far. FSG wants to be shrewd in their business by buying high potential young players but not shrewd enough in closing deals that can elevate the team's quality to the next level. Looking at how Barca is lurking within Anfield to entice FSG with an enormous bid, and seal a deal for Coutihno, I remain concern whether FSG could have been more prepared to get the necessary quality players to show a statement to existing core team; instead of plunging into any buys unprepared and appease the fans. See Lallana, has FSG started to search for a similar quality as Lallana is nearing his 30s. For long-term planning, we should be getting a player to bed them to our system over 2 years perhaps; akin to how SAF did it at Man Utd. That said, I hope the team strength is reinforced by the end of Aug; otherwise, i hope the current team can rise to the occasion and perform, even with the possible absence of PC. I believe we can do better this season on 4 fronts only if we have a full squad for selection.

What we lack is one central defender of which, we are keeping our fingers cross for Virgil of Southampton.
Jamesc Hypersonic August 5, 2017 Share August 5, 2017 We should be ok as long as it doesn't come down to penalties. I think Hoffenheim has the advantage here as they don't have any English players.
Jamesc Hypersonic August 5, 2017 Share August 5, 2017 Athlethic Bilbao In 1983-84 the Reds, having been held 0-0 at Anfield, went to Bilbao and won 1-0 thanks to an Ian Rush header en route to winning the European Cup. They are our lucky charm in the European Cup so that's why we are playing them.

Akula Turbocharged August 5, 2017 Share August 5, 2017 A 3-1 win over A Bilbao. Lovely atmosphere at Dublin. Missing a few first teamers. Moreno looking decent all of a sudden. Milner going into Midfiend as expected. Solanke with a goal, looking like a shrewd acquisition
Jamesc Hypersonic August 6, 2017 Share August 6, 2017 JK secret tactics picked up by microphones. Pitch-side microphones managed to pick up the German yelling to his players to pick up the pace. “Shift it, August [is] too late to play like this,” he says, before screaming: “PLAY F***ING FOOTBALL”. Unsurprisingly, the short clip quickly went viral on Twitter and proved a big hit with fans.

Silver_blade Turbocharged August 6, 2017 Share August 6, 2017 (edited) can share how much u spent during this trip? i initially thought of making the trip myself....but if can afford, mayb will bring my family as well. I didn't spend too much, spent around £39 for 1 adult and 2 kids, cos I am currently living in the UK and we are in liverpool for holiday. Hotel for 3 days 2 nights was around £280 & diesel cost around £60. But if you going to Liverpool and perhaps London for 6 days, 5 nights...I reckon it will cost around S$3.5 - 4.5K for one person. Atrecord Supersonic August 7, 2017 Share August 7, 2017 Not sure if i heard correctly over (m'sian) radio this morning, but it said Coutinho has agreed to move to Barca... , for a fee approaching 1 mil Euro... I hope it's not true. If he has to go, better be for at least 1.5 mil.
