After pps, i will let groomer wash the car. I don't want to mess up the shine.

Qn1:pps vs glass coating any diff?

Qn2: maintain gloss and easy wash is my objective which is preferred?

repost (in case my earlier post was not posted)

Hi

wanted to seek advise about the PPS and glass coating.

1) Are they the same?

2) If my objective is to maintain gloss & easy cleaning which is suitable (as likely there will be 2 opinions, hence included my objective if it helps in anyway)

was quoted 980 (after 100 discount) for 1 time coat plus 2 servicing at 6 mthly interval.

Thank you in advance for any advise given in this forum

Sounds quite expensive. I paid Just under $400 to get my glass coating done and that included one free servicing. There are so many different products out there these days and I have no clue what makes one glass coating better than another. I bought a separate detailing spray that I just spray and wipe every few weeks as well. It definitely helps keep the shine and its so easy to apply. Can do the whole car in about 30 min

Supercharged

I don't think PI/BM paid the declared OMV to Toyota.

Dear bro whistleblower, while you are writing your letter to LTA, maybe you also want to point out this mysterious situation where Subaru FXT OMV is half of harrier when in Japan they sell at the same price.

Thought this is well known fact that the car was stripped bare when during import and that brought down the omv drastically? Not an expert. Just hearsay.

Hi everyone, relatively new Harrier owner here.

I would like to find out the following:

- Eco mode. Do you all usually turn it on and keep the rpm within the bar aka <2000rpm?

- FC is around 10km/l. 90% city, 10% highway. Is that acceptable?

- petrol. I am pumping 95, occasionally Vpower. Is it better to pump 98?

- tyre pressure. 18 rim. Is 240kpa alright? Felt a little bumpy. Should I reduce the pressure

- start/off engine. I usually warm up the car by letting engine run for about a min, till first bar of temp gauge. When I stop the car, I just turn it off within turning off radio or let the wind blow out the cold air. Is that alright?

- in-car gps. Don't seem to be able to operate it. PI 2014 make. Is it able to be used locally? Else, any recommendation of place to include it?

Thank you so much!

For NA Harrier (not Turbo):
FC 10km/l for 90% city is good!
Petrol RON 95 is more than enough.  Do you feel any difference with 98? Perhaps only on a very hot day.

Tyre: 220kpa is factory recommended pressure. 240kpa will feel a little bumpy. Personal preference too.

No need to warm up.  Start engine, close door, buckle up, set your GPS/phone/music etc.  Put into D. Drive gently until the temp needle is in the centre.  Modern cars take ages to warm up on idle (no load) cause the cars are designed to use very very little fuel when there is no load on engine. Best way to warm up is to drive gently i.e. don't rev more than 2+ or 3k rpm until engine is nicely warmed up.  Even for winter temperatures, idle warmup is not recommended by car manufacturers.

I always just off the engine when I reach my destination and have put the car in P.

I don't wait or touch any of the aircon controls.

Have never had any musty smell problem though I've heard of a few folks (quite rare) who have had such a problem.  The only solution then is to arrange for cleaning/disinfection of the evaporator coil (the one in the dashboard) e.g. using a treatment like the following:

http://www.riverviewauto.com.sg/downloads/Servicing-Aircon4in1.pdf

Should be available at other car aircon workshops too.

Thank you for taking the time to reply me

Aldy booked Harrier at end July. However after learning so much frm bros here abt fxt, test-drove it today to have a 'feel' of it.

My personal review and take abt the 2 (both are great cars with its own merits and not leaning towards to any of them)

Harrier: Love at first sight

Fxt: capable and wld make a great 'life partner'(though lifetime here means 10yrs)

Also this was my first ever test drive of a subarea brand. Enjoyed my ride as much as any that I hv test driven before.

Neutral Newbie

I have booked the Harrier Premium. It comes with one year free servicing. Believe those who booked before official launch got 3 years free servicing as a reward for booking the car without looking at it at showroom.

Could I get some opinion on whether we can pay extra to upgrade from 1 year to 3 years free servicing? Any idea how much is it and whether worth to pay extra for this?

Thanks.

For me it was all abt personal preference. Prefer to decide which variant I want. Cos in the first place wanted Harrier. So not into wasting time shopping around for equivalent.
