Harrier Turbo no longer exclusive to BM?

Not sure if it was mentioned earlier, was at Ubi megamart today, saw a PI with Harrier Turbo on display.

it may not be Turbo but 2017 facelifted Harrier NA.

I know for a fact some PI are selling the facelifted Harrier NA. The facelifted Harrier NA comes in brown interior leather.. so if you spot one that looks like HT but with brown interior trim, then that one is NA. I think the wheels may look different as well.

Dear all, sorry for not posting for quite sometime, been busy "studying/on course", hope to answer various enquiries regarding HT.

attachicon.giffirst day.JPG

First day collection last august...ODO 7km....at West coast ferry road.

My car was given standard polish by a foreign worker, and it rains that night, hehe.

To check for obvious damage or defect.

Received a red toyota umbrella (can be 1, 2 or 3),

besides tools, English car manual, token cashcard/flashcard.

Took photos with trade in car at the carpark...as last memory.

attachicon.gif19.5kmL.JPG

Smooth 95% highway, from Changi Airport to NUS medical/science faculty area, just cruising between at 75-90km/hr x 30minutes.

Seems as good as some hybrid cars,  perhaps non turbo can have better FC, no complaints!

attachicon.giffull tank range 578.JPGattachicon.gifaccurate FC.JPG

A more accurate FC will be the full tank range and/or average FC AFTER REFUELLING.  Please note my results were using ECO mode 99% of the time and for this occasion was relatively light footed with air con fan speed at minimum/lowest.

As expected, for more spirited drive with fast acceleration (eg from traffic lights), my FC generally still acceptable, at least 10km/L.

And yes, the power mode acceleration is FAST enough for most drivers, around 7 plus second century sprint, really.

attachicon.gifgps version.JPG

i have GPS poor reception issue as mentioned by others.

Map is the same one as in Alphard/VF, Camry or Altis, and surprised they still gave us the 2016 (not 2017...).

Fortunately the haywire gps was resolved after the first 1000km servicing, something to do with ? placement of GPS receiver and setting, they cant tell me much.... but well done BM for solving it once and for all. Thanks Aloee111, hope yours solved too and dont worry about radio reception, quite strong even in MCE, but prefer the unit to provide digital radio...

attachicon.gifdvd ok.JPG

DVD quality is average and a relatively "small screen size" in my opinion, compared to what's available in the market.

Digital TV (will recommend pioneer) and the "bypass switch" is apparently easily available, but be safe, driver not to watch video on motion once installed. Advantage of this bypass switch is we can still use the GPS/MP3 menu FULLY (when in motion, some options will not be available).

attachicon.gifpower boot setting.JPGattachicon.gifdoor lock setting.JPG

Setting of door unlock done but unfortunately BM unable to do the setting for power boot - request to open power boot even in locked position using remote. Avonez - please see whether you can get them do it.

attachicon.gifsilkblaze.JPG

Have installed this aftermarket blue sidemirror with twin motion blinker, sequential too....by silkblaze, like it.

As mentioned in my car review, the memory seat unfortunately is not link to the sidemirrors.....not sure why/possibly to cut cost.

attachicon.gifboot lights.JPGattachicon.gifbuttons.JPG

additional boot lights useful, available here in SG in some shops, not expensive, cant find made in Japan one but seems ok.

buttons - almost full, use up.

Andyngps - go for it.....

Wish my post/photos are helpful for all who are interested in HT.....ok going back to study.

Hi Alphard96,

Do you know where to get the 'bypass switch' which you mentioned rather easily available ?

Thanks.

Mine installed by my long time usual audio accessories installer at TPH Indust Park

Btw:

1) Update: Those having problems with GPS "flying", please send to Leng Kee - they solved it once and for all. Now GPS almost instantaneously capture position and no issues with navigation.

2) My clock ?cracked malfunction after a few days old, they are going to replace it soon. Anyone has similar manufacturer defect?

3) Anyone successfully change the rear signal lights to LED bulb without superblinking/hyperflash, cant find the correct spacer/modulator in SG

4) The bounciness suspension/jittery ride can be improved by keeping the tyre pressure at strictly recommended pressure, instead of hyperinflating it...but still not as cushy ride like saloon cars. Any other suggestion?

5) Careful with the the tonneau cover, the black bar scratched relatively easily - my carelessness when i carried 2 wheelchairs last weekend.

I'll check with BM when I go for my next servicing but does anyone know if it is possible to turn off the reverse beeping sound (before detecting obstacle)? Is loud and irritating. Lexus don't implement like that.

Wow, any more details?

I happen to pass by a PI last week. So I asked them if they are bringing in the Harrier Turbo and they said that if BM brings them in, they are "not allowed" to bring in. Not sure if they speaking the truth as I think there is nothing to stop them.

I just switch to sports mode the moment I start my car.

Much more enjoyable to drive that way.

Simi normal or eco mode.. just dulls the performance and makes no diff in FC whatsoever.

Yes I tried a week or normal and a week of eco.

Worst two weeks of my driving experience in the car.

It was mentioned on the Motoring section of the Straits Times that a 7 seater version of the Harrier will arrive here by end of next year.  Looks like the Sorrento, CX-9 will have serious competition soon.  Hope it can improve on the looks in the interior.

Hi Freeder,

Fortuner looks bad ...and basically a pick up platform with pick up ride performance.

If toyota and 7 seaters, dun think anyone need to look beyond already available estima or alphard.

Cheers,

Richard
