Hi! Anybody knows where can I get portable charger (charge for 3-pin plug from home) for Kona and what is the cost?

I got mine from ebay. Expect to pay about $200 and above, includes shipping. Price depends on cable length and current rating. I bought it only as a back up in case all the 7kW AC charging points in my condo are not working. So far, never had to use it.

Do be careful when using the portable charger from a standard 13A UK type power socket. Most of the home type power points may not be able to handle the heat generate so best to restrict the current to about 10A or less at all times.

There is none that I know of in SG but I find the US based forum quite active, the users mostly polite and informative.

Google:  Hyundai Kona Electric Inside EVS Forum

Never use the 3 pin 13A plug to charge an EV. It's too dangerous.

I thought its of of the option albeit the slowest charging type that might take more than 10hrs, depending on battery size.

the problem is the long charging time. the 13A socket in our homes is not designed to carry high amperage for long hours. the wires in the walls, the 3 pin socket on the wall and the fuse in the 3 pin plug will get very hot and is a fire hazard. in addition, the 3 pin socket is looped, i.e. the wiring is shared with other 3 pins sockets and those could also be connected and in-used. so you don't really know how much amperage the wire is carrying and it can overload. just check how many 3 pin sockets you have and how many MCB you have in the DB box.

Test-drive and booked my Kona Hybrid sun-roof variant in dark knight color last week and the COE secured before the COE went up to 52K. I was very impressed with the car technology, comfort among other things. Currently driving a Suzuki S-Cross. As a new Kona owner, I hope to hear other owner hear their experience  Attached photos were taken during the visit to the showroom. Kona hybrid and electric in the photos.

I learned from my SE that no Kona shipment coming in December because of supply chain issue. Waiting will take longer than 2 months. Thankfully I still have a car to use. Other customer no car, waiting for Kona.

@Hons Kona Hybrid. It finally arrived. Hope to collect by next week.

Hello.. Did Komoco give you an update that your car is in Singapore?

I ordered the hybrid model in early October (not sunroof version though) yet there's no news from Komoco and now it seems that my collection would be later than yours...

Ioniq's boot is very shallow... and Kona sits higher... better visibility...

Bad news. Delay again. The vessel that is shipping my car has some engine issue. Will get an update next week.

Any things to look out for when buying the hyundai kona 1.0T manual?

Planning to purchase second hand,

Have a few considerations:

1.resale value if manual vehicle

2. Fuel consumption?

3. 1.0T for a 1.3 ton vehicle, can it compare with a 1.6L NA?

Thanks for any advice....

@shaunlwl

Hi

Not sure if anyone replied to you. But one thing to look out:

- Check the clutch when doing test drive, especially when moving out in 1st gear.

Other than that, check for the usual wear and stuff plus the mileage.

For manual vehicle, the resale value varies (depending the market perception of this car). Given the current situation, the resale value for Kona 1.0T should be average for next few years down the road (about 7.5k -8k depre per year).

Fuel consumption is not bad , 14-15 km/l. Though that also depends how much time you spend on highway and city driving.

Kona 1.0 is definitely faster than all 1.6L NA cars, except Honda Civic EG6, Suzuki Swift Sport?
