Surprised Chelsea could still get a fair price after the mistake Conte made with the text to Costa which effectively meant Chelsea didn't hold the cards anymore as he was unwanted goods n with his insistence on only joining Ath Madrid, it meant his value plummeted.

I suppose common sense prevailed eventually n it is a loss to EPL I feel as he is quite a character. Physical, snarling striker with an eye for goal unlike his replacement Morata who is more intelligent with movement between the lines n so is a complete opposite of Costa. We shall see how they both fair as they settle in.

Actually Ath Madrid very first offer was something like £25mil only n in the end they paid more than double that!!

There maybe more to it then meets the eye cos I don't think Ath Madrid is so silly to pay so much when they hold all the cards. Then again I read he is the final piece of the jigsaw for them to push on for silverware. They have a good goalie in Oblak n organised defence with Juanfran, Godin, Luis n fast wingers in Carrasco n Corea. Add to the MF of Koke, Gabi n Saul plus the excellent Griezmann up front n they only missing a target man which has been void since Costa left in 2014. They could fight for Liga n UCL with him on board!!
