He want to champion that player bigger than the club.... Club should let the player go to the club they wish.

Or maybe he very good to his old club leh .... knowing BArca want PC, want o fulfill the wish as compensation for his leaving.... Lol.

You got a valid point. I'm reading that John Henry was adamant on not going against his word on VVD cos it is his business style to behave with integrity which I credit him for doing so but it comes at a price to Pool for sure. Likewise he is also adamant on not letting PC leave and true to his word, even a big carrot failed to tempt him and this surely would silence any FSG doubters once n for all.

Sorry bro, VVD's incident had nothing to do with his business style.

His business partner did a boo-boo and we have no choice but to back down and apologise. It was conveyed to Southampton that we are still keen on VVD and willing to go as high as £70m for him should Southampton change their stance on him. Till the closing of the window, Southampton held firm.

The deal would have happened in two ways: Saints invite us to bid when they decide to sell, or when they accept a bid from another club and Liverpool will come in. Neither of he above happened.

Instead of crediting Henry, I will credit Klopp. He called all the shot on this signing but can't do much when played out by Werner. Klopp is rating VVD so highly that he simply refused to consider any other options. A decision that requires balls and I hope he will not live to regret later.

Separately, Coutinho's situation has more insider story. Read here if you are interested.

Aftermath of a dreadful window at Barcelona.

Motion of no confidence passed against Barca president.

He might have to step down and a new board will be appointed. If the new board doesn't fancy Coutinho, they might not come for him again.

Looks like the "now or never" offer could now be real :D

Barca a club in turmoil now?

Hmm can we ask LS..to come back? Finish his unfinished business! Win title..! Haha

Imagine current strike force plus want away PC and LS! No need new defender anymore! We can be the Barca in UK! Haha

"There is nothing to stop Neymar and Mbappe agreeing to sign for 'only' £65,000 a week and simultaneously sign an ambassadorial role for a Qatari company for £300,000 or £400,000 a week," said Maguire.

"If this is the case only the £65,000 a week would go through PSG's accounts and FFP would be satisfied.

"Uefa's FFP inspectors have no authority, I suspect, to review the private deals struck by players with non-football commercial sponsors, so would not have access to these deals."

Wow. This is a smart loophole. I wonder if they really do it.

I had mentioned thie possibility before of inflated sponsorship which is rife but UEFA is aware of this n has compared sponsorships with market price at other football clubs n adjusted accordingly. This one on wages I think is new but not surprising if it does happen n as rightfully pointed out, some matters are beyond UEFA jurisdiction so there will always be loopholes but UEFA shld learn along the way n tighten their rules accordingly just like the inflated sponsorship.

In short, when there is a will from the authorities, there shld be a way otherwise it would like sticking up a finger at the rules which must be respected.

Erm...the problem is with the back 4.

If we can every minute go out score our opponent than defence won't be a problem. Hahaha only in fantasy football.

Wow. This is a smart loophole. I wonder if they really do it.

Such loop hole is same like us. Coupon parking don't don't tear off..flip use back.

Hahaha

Very good player

But not worth the quoted amount

Value, not just in the field, also look at marketability and other factors

He is worth it.

I don't see Neymar doing this.

:D
