hopefully ur version is true, cos if really the club is doing such stunt, they will screw up more transfers this way. previously, haggling over transfer fee. now its wages.

We need to accept a fact. We can never match City on wages, whether with UCL or not. What we can try is to pack it in such a manner which is base plus incentives.

The difference is that once you lock into base wage, it goes into the books and can be calculated towards FFP compliance. Incentives from what I understand, does not.

So players will just have to trust in our project, trust in their ability and take the incentivised wage structure.

Apparently the latest report on Man City preparing to spend £100m on VVD is likely to come from player's camp.

Pool's contract offer is incentivised, £130k+50k. I believe the agent is trying to pressure Pool to improve on that.

Is City's interest real? Only his agent will know.

On Salah's front, Roma wants £35m. Deal getting closer.

Is salad that good? 35m, is he going to be a first teamer?

Saw his highlights in Roma

Not very exciting

Don't forgot, he chose to go to Chelsea than to Pool when he was given a chanced few years back......  :omg:

I read in a report of his interview that he was about to come to Pool when JM called him and asked him to go over to Chelsea.  He changed his mind in the last minutes and when over to Chelsea. Thereafter, bench warmer at Chelsea.

This type of player won't get any respect from me. :a-no:    :a-noway:

His heart was set for a move to Liverpool. Basel was holding firm on their asking price and refused to accept out £9m bid. All was agreed with the player.

We have more than a month to negotiate. Thinking that player wanted us, we didn't bother to up bid.

Then came Chelsea. Offered £2m more than us. Even by then, we didn't want to match. Basel accepted their bid and possibly Jose called him and told him to go to Chelsea.

Is it his fault that Liverpool can't strike a deal with Basel for close to the entire window? Is it his fault Basel need money and will sell him to the highest bidder?

The history is now repeating. Salah wants the second chance to play for us. Deal with player agreed. £4m plus bonus per annum. They want to sell Salah to balance their book. Can Pool do a better job this time round?

For anyone interested, that's what Salah said in the interview in 2016

Speaking to MBC Masr in April 2016, he said: “Liverpool had wanted me for a number of months. They had opened talks in October 2013.

“Negotiations took a long time, because Basel rejected more than one offer. They felt the transfer fee was not that high. I was waiting for Liverpool because I really like Liverpool. I was eager to join them.

“But then I received a phone call from Mourinho and that changed everything. He explained the situation to me and told me that he needed me at Chelsea. That was one of the main reasons why I joined Chelsea.

“Mourinho told me that he thought I was a good player and that he wanted me to pick Chelsea.”

If we had been decisive enough, Jose didn't even have the chance to make that call.

Many many years ago. When jurgen klinsmann joined spurs... it was kinda shocking as well. A super big name n foreign as well...

Then the floodgatea opened for many foreign big names. Bergkhamp. Zola etc.

I was also hoping spurs splurge back then. Continue the tradition to sign n sign.

Back to present. And probably due to internet scouting and not least flushloads of monies. Alan shearer 15m transfer looks like a steal today. Heck even ronaldo 80m looks a steal today.

But also how much big names or big monies went for big monies and turn out pussies. Veron. Soldaldo. Denilson. Robino. Etc.

The thing with some of these players really just wan2 to play for monies. Lesser passion.

Sunderland's earning of £93.5m for finishing LAST in the Premier League is more than Juventus, Bayern or Monaco get for WINNING Serie A, BL, Ligue 1.

Now we see why all other leagues want to carrot us when we want their players?

Wenger on if missing out on CL will affect keeping Özil & Alexis: "I don't think it will because they were part of not getting in there."

I like this guy. No holding back. Say it as it is.

In any case, barring any last min hiccup, he should be a Red next week. That's what he told one Eygptian fan.
