Switch Off Aircon and Media Player before Turning Off Engine

I'm driving W205, I find it annoying.

Eg, im at fan speed 4 and not touch the AC switch, I need to press down 4 times to off it.

When I'm starting engine, I need to push up 4 times to on it back to fan speed 4.

Any W205 owner here? Do you bother switching off the AC?

From what I remember Mercs W126 made in 1980s already had a delay compressor start when ignition turned to start.  W212 also delay the fan motor.

For Camry and Accord that I had driven, I don't off the aircon before turning off the engine.

I was told that after turning off the compressor will disengage and free to rotate and not put a strain on the starter.

I always have a practice to off the AC and let the fans blow just as I entered the MSCP. Never off the radio though.

need to practice some common sense....

At home, you also don't off the main switch of your aircon and expensive sound system/tv while they are in operation....

If the car is from 70's or 80's, yes. Modern cars air cons have some delay after engine is started. No need to be so ley chey one. Like warming up engine.

Just start and go. Or stop the engine and leave the car. I use my car like using a hammer. Pick it up and start hammering, finish the job just put back into tool box.

For me , I feel that need to maintain the aircon air filter and ambience more important.

With Covid19, even more so.

try this, finally had the time to use this since last MCF sonax meetup

I still do warm up my ride like for 10s. When started, the Mazda 3 does rev quite high and then drops to below 2K rpm after like 10s. Then I move off.

Why not replace the AC filter every 20K servicing? Or periodic replacement?

The in between part is also important .

food smell n wet market fish odour can linger .

this is more of nice to have maintenance when ever I take the filter out for dusting .

i don’t really follow thru on the instructions so my back seat is normally drop n it spreads to the boot compartment as well

Ah! Thats why I have an airtight box for dabao of food. So no smell will get to my car. Hates that.
