My eyes hurt. Stupid tissue box and the reflection!!

In an incident like this where the Mitsubishi Attrage driver's behavior was rather bizarre when he stopped his car suddenly for no apparent reason after making U-Turn, do you folks think that the video evidence is a good enough ground/proof for cam white car driver to make a successful insurance claim against the Mitsubishi driver?

quickly flick the steering left and right to get back traction

He did exactly what he is not suppose to do in this situation....Braking.

Cam car parked outside synagogue. How come no one chased him away

Looks like Bencoolen St.

Cam car is stationary against jagged double yellow lines.  [smash]

Looked like AMTK

This kind of people really jia ba bo sai pang go and scratch other's car.

Looks like aquaplaning and then maybe driver applied on the brakes to correct ?

Aquaplaning I have encountered a few times in extreme heavy rain, just need to keep a firm grip on the steering wheel no braking required just tap slightly on accelerator.

At least the BMW put a big dent in the Attrage and not the other way around...  [laugh]

If I was to decide I would blame the Attrage 100% because he jam brake unexpectedly in a spot like that with an apparently clear road. So unless Attrage got evidence of something in front it seem to me all his fault. Especially because when a car coming out of a left turn filtering lane driver is probably checking over shoulder.

But of course because there is always the "keep safe distance" rule, BMW is probably gonna get some liability. If I speaking as a insurer would personally say like 80-20 (majority attrage) but insurers more likely to 5050 or some nonsense.

Something that suspicious to me is the way the Attrage driver looking at the BMW and writing(?) down like as if preplanned liao...

An accident that happened recently late Apr this year on a rainy day.

It's a gentle reminder not to drive too fast on rainy days.

But what would one do if he/she is in such a situation when the tires lose their grip?  Is there any thing a driver can do to bring control back to the car?

https://www.facebook.com/allsgstuff/videos/2431972300276818/

Encountered these kind of situations so many times in my oversea driving and also in Singapore.

Just let go of the accelerator and hold the steering wheel tight. That's all.

Do not do any braking or turn the steering left and right trying too hard to keep to the lane. It's as simple as that.

This was taught in the advanced driving lesson as well

I'm not an expert, but my (bad) experience would tell me to slow down, lift foot off the accelerator, and steer as straight as possible. Do not turn the steering wheel at large angle.

Tap on and off the brake lightly but do not step hard on it.

Tyres have aquaplaned and they need to get their grip back.

But most important of all, make sure to change out your tyres early if they are already worn.

I almost hit the concrete barrier at KJE once, but at the last second, the tyres grip.

I was steering straight at the wall. [laugh]

Attrage, I stay far away from them.

Seems to be mostly driven by inexperienced drivers.

When tyres lose grip due to aquaplaning, release accelerator and hope that traction will come back. Never step brake too hard, as step brake too hard equal to lock wheels and will be GG.

When raining heavily, Do not make sudden big turning in steering wheel. Instead, turn steering wheel gentle and smoothly, of coz slow down and drive slow in the wet..

Judging from the video, the guy had likely over steered the car when he noticed the car begin to lose control.

I really admire manual car Drivers, the morning peak traffic can be crazy and the cars are usually quite close especially lane 1

The reason why i switched to auto car some 16 yr ago, was precisely to stop admiring myself...

Kanna stuck in traffic jams when having to travel about 25-30 km from home to workplace, really made it a challenge for my legs  [sweatdrop]

There is some truth in that statement.

Aiyoh. Such personnel sure got SOP to follow lah. Who are we to decide what to do or not to do? Just like during Battalion exercise, just walk & walk only....

In before someone says our boys in blue are a jiak liao bi bunch.

The Attrage driver's notebook and pen come out of his back pocket so fast... He must get into accidents very often, so well trained.

For Malaysia plates, it's at least 90%.

Their lives are cheap, they don't slow down even if you already signalled long ago and already crossed the lane markings moving to the next lane, they will just swerve to the direction you are moving and continue on their way.

And those who don't have space to swerve, they will just horn and horn until you complete your lane change.

I encounter this every morning so I am definitely not biased.

Some lah, not fair to generalise....

To be honest, a bit hard for the BMW to fight.

Going by BOLA, he is already wrong. For the claim, he LLST already.

The only thing he can do now is to make a report for suspected insurance fraud and let the poodles investigate, if they bother to.

The most important is to steer in the direction of the skid.

And do not do sudden lift off from the accelerator, you might create lift-off oversteer instead due to loss of traction.

Another mofo who beat the lights...

First of all, this driver need to remove the barang barang on his dashboard to get rid of the reflection.

Then he need to change the bloody lame horn to Hella or Magnum.
