Carbuyer8989 1st Gear April 20, 2017 Share April 20, 2017 No wonder Singapore soccer is in such a sorry state. Waste time to elect new team. New CPIB drama to watch. ------------ http://www.straitstimes.com/sport/football/football-sportsg-files-police-report-over-alleged-misuse-of-funds-at-bill-ngs Football: Police raid offices of FAS, 3 football clubs after SportSG files report over suspected misuse of funds SINGAPORE - Police have raided the offices of the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) and three football clubs on Thursday (April 20) as part of a probe into the alleged misuse of funds at Tiong Bahru Football Club. Besides the FAS premise at the Jalan Besar Stadium, police officers also visited the clubhouses of TBFC in People’s Park Complex, Hougang United at Hougang Stadium and Woodlands Wellington at Prinsep Street. The statement said: "Following the media reports that Tiong Bahru Football Club had donated $500,000 to the Asean Football Federation (AFF) through the FAS (Football Association of Singapore), SportSG looked into the matter, and received further information on 18 April 2017. SportSG's latest statement on Thursday added: " On 3 April 2017, SportSG received a letter from a named individual alleging that a senior officer of a Football Club had instigated another Club to delay and/or obstruct the completion of audits until after the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) Elections, scheduled to be held on 29 April 2017, with false reasons. ↡ Advertisement

Yewheng Twincharged April 20, 2017 Share April 20, 2017 (edited) Looks like it will be the end of FAS, gonna be no more s-league. So don't talk about world Cup, think in future there will also have problem filing for Asia Cup. I read that it was explained that if no jackpot machine, they would have closed down long ago, cannot just depend on government subsidies to survive as it is too little. That is so true. So can't totally blame those football club have jackpot machine to earn profit. Edited April 20, 2017 by Yewheng

If you look at M'sia/Singapore football league history it's marred with corruption and bribery. Singapore gahment don't trust the ppl running the football clubs. And they are right not to do so. Our country is small so largely have to depend on playing M'sia league to go far. But M'sia as we know their league is rotten from top to bottom. If Singapore wants to join we have to play their "game". You think S'pore gahment allows it? Soccer here as I know it is cmi.

This is true and it is not only to Football Clud, any county club in Singapore sure will have tiger machine even NUSS too. Thats where all the silver cow is located. If the club relies solely on F&B and subscription, can close shop. Of course, who are these players for tiger machine? All the aunties and uncles lor. If not they will really no choice shut down due to no money for operation expenses. Then government step in and subsidize more. Like that government expenses will keep increasing, end up taxpayers suffer. As of current its actually doing quite alright already. Those who want to go in for jackpot and lose money, let them be. We rather to have few who just want to lose money, then masses lose money in terms of need to pay more for taxes.. Yes precisely, that's why FAS said already government subsidies not enough to cover for expenses one. The only problem is that government may still want FAS to survive as to want to see our local footballers go into world Cup. They will sure no choice have to up budget to FAS to prevent them from closing down. So it's not ideal solution. But you know.. Like I posted something about government cannot run like a company it's all political. So, if FAS can't make profit and want to shut down, due to political reason don't want them shut down and pump more money in. Like that how? Just look at overseas football league. How they generate so much money to run the football clubs? Soccer betting. In other words Gambling. Players get paid like out of this world using gambling money. Where the big money is comes corruption and bribery and even attract Singapore most infamous bookie. That's why in Singapore Pools the soccer betting odds are so miserable. The money are kept small to keep out all the bad stuff and suppress gambling to the minimal, so football clubs funding are small as well.
