that one think see heng-suay... we tried from Sat onwards, esp. wife, tried different plans/phones to try confirm their deals... maybe about 60% of the times can go in, 40% cannot...

At least better than from 3 Nov on, 100% cannot go in...

waa should have known to try more times... at least your wife got the 11.11 deal

Actually, IMHO, these days, there are a lot of contract-free sim only plans that are quite decent in pricing.

Compared to last time when the telcos invariably wants to tie you down to them for 2 yrs with phone instalments contracts.

These days it's better to bite the bullet and get the phones from a reliable shop and apply for contract-free sim only plans unless you are just flipping the phones.

There is no free stuff in the world (except for unsolicited opinions like mine   :D ) .....

sure. i'm going to stay on my no contract plan since any savings is minimal given they just give u like 100 dollar discount on the lowest plans.

buy a slim and sleek phone then buy a thick and bulky cover [laugh]

I use this leather cover from aliexpress.

Exactly. I just used a simple light transparent rubber/plastic cover.

Screen is without any protection film as modern screen should be scratch proof. My S7 used almost 20mths. not a single scratch on the screen.

The S8 is meant as a trial phone to see if Samsung/android has improved (my previous Note Edge's touchwiz was irritatingly notchy n overall poor batt life). If ok, will probably move onto the Note 9 next year since blardy Apple's nonsensical omission of Touch ID and the headphone jack

i see... the headphone jack is a real gamechanger... but still not stopping Apple fans...

I like Apple stuff. Have used 4S, 5S & now 6S, ipad pro & mac air. Was disappointed when IP7 came out n they took away the headphone jack for the lamest reasons. Lagi disappointed at IP8 as it looked obsolete the minutebit came out. IP X felt like a product rushed out so that they could have a 10th anniversary thingy for the fanbois to get wet dreams. Wtf, bezeless means cannot hv home button n headphone jack? Samsung is showing the way it should be done

Samsung ftw... but the technology seems to be moving towards Bluetooth headphones... so eventually maybe even Samsung will do away with headphone jack sometime in future too...
