At least 2 of the wall electrical sockets are in this state: I think the black stump that the long screw is drilled into broke off at the base. What are my options to remedy this? (mods, I used the search button for various permutations of what I wanted to find but came up naught. Ender Hypersonic March 25, 2017 Share March 25, 2017 Use putty, or if you want long term fix, see where the screw is broken, or if the bracket where the screw is broken, replace it with some generic bracket from DIY shop. I can see wires behind. I wouldn't advice a long term fix to replace the whole bracket for someone who is not into DIY. Beside need to disconnct the live wires. Though easy job, but dangerous for people with little experience. I feel just push it back, use epoxy if needed if the fixture does not stay in place, and finish off with putty to fill the gaps Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
w7_lee 4th Gear March 25, 2017 Share March 25, 2017 What I did was drill a hole into the concrete wall at where the black stump was suppose to be, put in a rubber wall plug into the hole I drilled and use a (much) longer screw, insert thru the hole of the face plate and fasten directly into the wall plug that I inserted. 1 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Remember to connect these to the earth for safety reason TS switch is built in wall. This bracket is for on the wall which is for us HDB dweller who don't mind being less aesthetic. And from TS's picture, I can't tell is there is enough concrete mass there for a wall plug to be drilled and plugged.
