Just receive the new len on my spec ( I use back the old frame)

tried it on and give me severe headache. The shop guy measured again my vision and said the prescription is correct.

He ask me to proceed to wear it for my eyes to adapt to it.

I wear it for a one day and really cannot take it anymore. Took 2 panadol and still having headache.

anyone know where can I get a free eye exam? A few shops I asked said I need to pay $20.

Worst come to worst I need to go back to the shop and demand to change my lens.

most prob the lens dont suit the new frame. You should have changed the lens together with the frame. I learnt this lesson when i was younger.....changed the lens but not the frame. Got headache until my eyes gets accustomed to the lens (it didnt sit well on the frame and the focus was wrong)...but after a while my eyes adapted to it. The problem started again when i changed to a new spectacles and lens....it caused me headache again until my eyes readjusted to the new specs whose lens were correctly angled to my eyes.

While the prescription is correct, your glasses shop can reduce or raise the power below or above the "ideal".  My daughter had the power of her glasses reduced slightly as she was getting headaches as well.

i presume the shop actually did a eyes test before prescribe you a new lens?

usually they will use the frame (old or new) to find the focal point and proceed to cut the lens.

Unless your eyes has drastic increase in power, if not it won't give you headache, only a bit giddy for few hours.

The headache really very bad even after I remove my glasses and take panadol, the pain only go away after next day.

Yes you are correct, they said They don't need my frame.

when the shop received the Zeiss len it is 1 big round piece, they show it me.

Then the technician at the shop cut it to my frame shape.

BTW this shop is in JB ( I choose it due to price difference) I am not sure they can accept to change another len.

when I wear it the vision become very sharp ( too sharp infact).

the original lens should sit very well with the original frame.....its very difficult to cut a lens to fit another frame.....the refraction (i think) angle to your eyes will most probably be out and your eyeball have to compensate for the error. Edited by Eviilusion

bring your glasses to local optical shop and ask them to do a test on your eyes and the lens, either the JB shop gave you a wrong degree lens or the measure of the focal point was out;

Hi Bro,

If your power did not change most probably is the focal point of the new spectacle is different from the old spectacle.

Very likely the focal point is set too different from your previous pair. If u can't get adjusted to it within a day or two, go and and complain

most lens have a focal point, your new ones may have been set wrongly, did the guy measure the distance between your eyes with the ruler?

I think he did, ask me to look at his finger like the picture but I don't recall he use this ruler,

Stop reading as my comment will be offensive.

I only go to my regular/trusted shop regardless how expensive it is.  I nvr have any problem even when swap to the new glass immediately.

I have been wearing spec for 30+ yrs.

I had this problem with one of my newly made glasses too from a shop near my place. I simply cannot get used to the glasses.

Went back to my previous shop that I used to patronised, he made me new pair of lens and it works. No headache or giddy. I realised not all opticians are experienced.

Do try go to a familiar shop that you previously had your glasses done and get new lens done.
