They don't include driver. If you check your insurance... that'll have the same number excl. driver.

At least my AXA insurance has it written down clearly... 6 excl. driver.

my Liberty insurance states "Seating capcity including driver"

which is one more than the number shown on my log card.

Ok. So the best way to know max. number of people allowed in the car is to check your insurance policy... loading over that number puts your policy at risk in the event of an accident.

Will be easy for them to wash their hands off paying out giving this as an excuse.

Yup, what is so difficult to understand the concept of .... subject to terms and conditions and the terms will state details of the vehicle and its carrying capacity.

Just like drink and drive, once it is deemed as illegal, the coverage is off. May not be so serious for overloading but still you are giving the insurer a free pass should shit hits the fan.

I agree with the facts but not the way you put it (at the mercy of the insurer).

If it is TS that knowingly breaks the rules then why should insurer bear the cost if anything happens?

They (insurer) don't. I don't understand what you don't understand.

You are right, I checked my insurance.  It is clearly stated 4 passengers (excluding driver), unlike log card only mentioned 4 passengers without mention of driver.

Is it ok to drive in to JB with 3 adults and 2 kids in a Corolla Altis?

Front 1 driver, 1 passenger. Back, 3 passengers, why not? Anyway, It is better to check your insurance.

Maybe he meant excluding the driver.

Hi. Count the number of seat belt. Each seat belt per pax.

Toddler (child seat) or kids also need to buckle up.
