COE bidding - 1st round of Feb 2017

KM offering very high rebate level, 48K for CAT B. Therefore higher chance for rebate as compared to other ADs should CAT B drop this round. Therefore no harm buying.

I was at KM showroom, lots of people browsing there.

Maybe KM is well known not only offers high coe rebate but also generously secure coe for their customers, thats why they attract so many people. Genuine buyers would rather go to KM to sign than going other ADs which is uncertain on coe bidding. Lol.

Genuine buyer! That's me, hahaha

My honest to goodness SE closed 1 deal and other SE closed two to three. It sounds like good time for KM.

Ever visited few showrooms such as Renault, Nissan, Audi etc at Alex, generally I did not see the crowded PMPS, just normal visitors volume.

I am not sure about Ubi side, anyway, I also can not predict the next COE, roughly I feel sellers are trying to attract the buyers by offering 2k more discount.

Maybe the COE will still maintain? Possibly, if the agents(include Uber etc) malicious to do so, otherwise, should be lower a little bit.

My take for this round are as follow:

CAT A up - 51+K

CAT B up - 53K

CAT E - up 53K

It will never go below 40K.

Yes, god ...

Does the crowd turnout at the showrooms influence your buying decision?

IMO, there's still sufficient demand, just a matter of how hungry the crowd is..

Without the Uber/Grab bids, the COE may drop to 45 or so IMO, otherwise it's >50k again all round..

This figure is reasonable and explainable, roughly agree.

1x bid guaranteed doesn't mean immediate COE registration, I believe.  they can choose when to bid. They did not put in a bid for me in the prev round.

But they committed in the contract to deliver latest by Mar.

A******k reputation is good. Hopefully they'll deliver what they promise.

Sgt, yours is guarantee 1x bid right? So you will definitely get ur COE this time?

My prediction

Cat A - $51,888

Cat B - $50,888

Cat E - $52,888

Coe is unpredictable. If there are many that hold back in 2016, and they flock in in 2017. Together with current year buyer, it is going to push up COE no matter what. That was what I thought a few months back as there was a speculation that COE is lower after CNY since months back. Lets see what is going to happened. Another 38k? Can't guess as I thought COE is dropping there were so many speculation above saying it will maintain or slightly higher, cannot discount as the forum sometime quite zun one.

Was at KM and VW last Friday. Cat B COE Rebates were $48k and $50k respectively.. SE confidently informed that back log orders still strong, Motor Show secured orders not bidded last round due to loan approval status..

Will observe the result this Wed and see if they are correct. Cheers!

SE always tell you coe is strong de la, so that you scare and signed quickly ma. But quite funny few ADs can afford coe rebate at $48-50k, they are predicting coe will increased back to $50k plus range? Cause if coe drop below $50k, then they have to rebate the coe amount.

Probably ADs have priced in COE at $50K plus? Given market conditions, they are content with making money only from sale of car? Edited by AXS

It is not funny. It's maths.

They have already factored in their COE margin into the overall selling price, hence they can put higher rebate.

These ADs are more than happy to give out the COE rebate to buyer should COE crash, they wont lose out from it.

Other ADs are competing on prices, hence more lean in their margins for COE, hence they can only offer very low rebate amounts.

Agreed ððð .... that's why some take red, some take green and some take blue pills. ð·

Do ADs need loan approved before bidding COEs? How ADs bid COEs for those not taking loan?

Logically, COE will be bidded promptly for those not taking loan. As for those taking loan, ADs may be making sure that Buyers are able to secure loan from their respective banks as part of the sales agreement (in house finance discount etc).

Just my guess anyway. Let's all observe the result this Wed. Cheers!
