Chey why take the trouble to rem all these?

In SG, we use the ever famous international greeting hand sign. Works everytime too. You will surely get a warm reception back from fellow motorists too [laugh]:XD:

That's why my middle finger very nicely manicured.

Never know when it'll be asked to stand upright and perform in public.

Hi all. Sorry I have to post here as there is no GT Line thread yet.

Just booked a GT Line via the online sale. Hope to learn from existing owners and join in any forum or chat groups for the Stinger if any.

Cheers!

Wah bro! You bit the bullet and bought the car! Congratulations!!! How much did you pay for it then if I may ask?

Thanks! I signed at $159,999 during the online warehouse sale. Only 1 unit. The normal price was about $165K then. By now should have dropped a bit more after the latest COE.

Neutral Newbie

I am keen on the stinger but was troubled by the creaks and noise in the test drive car. The sound was coming from the sunroof, doors and the boot hatch. I read from forums that these are common issues in the MY2018 cars. As the car is now into MY2019, are these issues already resolved? Can owners of MY2019 cars provide their inputs? Many thanks.

The only solution is to get the GT and drive it so that the screams of your passengers drown out the squeaks.

not really troubled by the squeaking noise (v minimal in my case.. it's only a bit when i turning up MSCP)...

it's actually caused by weatherstrip rubbers rubbing against one another.

but for those with such problems, there are multiple solutions.

i.e.

1. 3M Felt strips (something like this https://www.amazon.com/Anti-Squeak-Rattle-Self-Adhesive/dp/B012D1FXD2); or

2. Rub some rubber grease/silicon every few months (AD will do this for you if you complain about it); or

3. Turn on the radio louder lol

For noise behind, you may want to further soundproof the boot (it doesn't come soundproofed).  But I don't have a problem... maybe those sitting behind more affected.

Hi everyone, thanks for all the sharing regarding the kia stinger. I am very excited to say i placed an order for the stinger today. Hope to connect with existing owners and learn more about the car.

Is there a whatapp group that i can join??

A little background on my existing car and also shortlisted cars.

I was driving a Mercedes B200 ( 4&1/2 year old)

My shortlisted cars were actually C200 coupe, BMW 420 Coupe and the new BMW 330. Why all conti( overtrade value was excellent 89k for my b200 )Was looking to upgrade to a sportier vehicle as i just bought a Volvo XC90 for my wife late last year(works great as i have 3 kids)

For the C200 coupe I test drove and found it too underpowered and the back seats were very tiny. Felt very similar to my B200 also in terms on power.

420 Coupe was stunning, good space in the rear and also the drive was honestly pretty great. The feedback on the steering is actually very positive. But felt a little slow in terms of pick up speed.

330i was the one that stood out above the rest. Power was great, 2l turbo charged 4 cylinder engine. Great drivers feel. Equipment range was top of the line ( due newest model only launched this year) but wife mentioned that it looks pretty dated and boring. Rear seat were also kinda tiny ( my B200 had a bigger rear seat )

Almost booked the 3 series but decided to look around somemore. Drove past the Kia Showroom and saw the huge poster of the ST car of the Year Kia Stinger. Thought to myself why not?

First thing that struck me was the design of the car. To me it was really a blend between a audi and a maserati especially the rear. Super wide, curves at the right area, quad exhaust. Lion nose grill. Looks kinda daunting but not overbearing. A cross between a hatch back and a saloon. The finishing of the interior, let me just say this did not feel like a korean car, the interior actually looked and felt much better as compared to the C200 coupe. The seats were super comfy, bodyhugging, good lumbar support and the head rest tilts 2 ways, up and down and front and back. The rear seats were huge, can fit 3 adults comfortably. And lots of cool stuff you won't find in a korean car such as ventilated seats, huge sunroof, paddle shifters, 8 inch touch screen, hands free boot opening, rear aircon, multi driving modes, electronic seats with memory settings, My son loved the car so much he did'nt want to leave the drivers seat.

Arranged for a testdrive for both the 3.3l and 2.0l and was very impressed with the Super comfy ride, my 2 yr old fell asleep during the test drive. The cars gives you great confidence in terms of handling i actually turn onto lengkee slip road at around 70km/hr and car still gripped the tarmac extremely well.

Engine was super punchy and the throttle speed was quick. The steering was actually pretty sharp.( BMW330i had the sharpest steering ) feedback was also pretty decent.(lost to 330i)

The 3.3l was another beast all together. Ignited the boy racer in me. The car was raring to go and the sheer power of the vehicle you have to experience it to know what i mean.

I was immediately sold. You could tell from the look on my face, but wifey was not really enthusiastic about buying a Kia felt that it lack a certain prestige as compared to driving a conti. But for me it was the car. I didn't want to go car shopping again. That was it.

Negotiated with wifey on a trade (holiday to Jap and korea in December) and managed to convince her.

I settled on the GTline as it had ready stock. The GT only indent basis (4-6 months waiting time) and also due to my line of work, the petrol cost would have been exponationally higher.

To me it was a great deal a great looking car with a pretty punchy engine and price is below 160k. What more can you ask for?

Ps if anyone's interested into getting a Stinger, or any Kia, do look for Mr Teh. He deserves big kudos!

Cheers!
