I have seen this car before!! a few times actually. very aggressive looking

But i have a question, does the red stripe on the side of the boot light up? seems a bit out of place

This excerpt is from the respected CAR UK mag. It says that the 2L without the selectable electronic suspension rides a fair bit worse than the 3.3GT, which rides plushly like a lux car.

Anyone has experience with this area and can comment?

UK roads are very bumpy. Might not applicable here.

It’s rides abit stiffer than my comfort oriented B9 A4. But never that harsh or uncomfortable. I appreciate the stiffer suspension more at higher speeds though.

It’s meant to be a GT car after all, can’t be all that harsh, like a track car, example Civic Type R.

I'm sorry if I offended you but I haven't heard much about Audi's gearbox... most of the complaints have to do with VW... that's why I ask... after all Audi is owned by VW...

Not offended.

By your logic, Porsche PDK also problematic since also under VW  [rolleyes]

It's funny how we easily relate bad things from one sister brand to another under the same umbrella but we never equally spread the good things one brand is known for, to another.

But didn't Porsche's PDK come first before VW bought Porsche... if I don't remember wrongly... I don't know where VW was at that time... didn't pay much attention to them then... ha ha... but for Audi, their DSG came long after VW bought Audi... so their dual clutch is basically VW, not the same as Porsche...

Doesn’t matter. The only manufacturer I know who builds their own auto boxes are hyundai and Mercedes. The rest of the vw bmw group etc sources it from others.

Aisin's parent company is Toyota Motor Corp, as listed in Wikipedia. Even the HQ is in Toyota territory.

JATCO is a spin-off of Nissan...

GM and Ford have their own transmission factories in the US.... if you go to Detroit area, you can see factories with huge signage GM Transmissions.

VW has its own transmission factories... e.g. https://www.vwatj.com/en/company/who-we-are

The other Germans could source from local German manufacturers like ZF or Getrag, if that is what you meant...

I know you’re very free that’s why so active on this forum but I suggest you make your posts count, with facts that you can back up with, not with over generalized sweeping statements based on tiagong and butt feel.

If possible i’d prefer to get back on track for this Stinger thread. Thanks.

After 1400 km and first servicing done, I feel like the car is more settled in, in terms of throttle response both from the get go and accelerating from cruising speed, as well as the suspension. I'd still prefer to be on Sports mode most of the time for that more eager throttle response with all of its torque (353nm) coming in as early as 1300 rpm for the 2.0T Stinger. I initially planned to install a throttle controller but it seems like I don't have to anymore. FC wise, my routes at 80% highway so my avg FC reading is 11.5km/L. On certain trips in comfort mode, I get as much as 14.5km/L  :D

Handling wise, it's more confidence inspiring than my B9 A4 since the Stinger has a stiffer suspension, meaning cornering is done in a more composed manner, less body roll, esp. with the well bolstered seats hugging you. Also less floaty feeling at higher speeds.

Gotta be honest, a lot of times I forget I'm driving a Korean car. That's how good the car is, in terms of built quality, materials & finish, noise insulation, stability, road holding & presence, the comfort as well as its list of cabin gizmos.. not to mention that sporty exterior design and the easy-to-fall-in-love-with interior.

If I'm having this much fun with this 2.0T Stinger, I can't imagine the owners for the 3.3 v6 Stingers

you changed the logo of the car ? seriously with KIA moving up the leader with better products. i think they need to redesign their badge to look more stylo.

Yeah man. I think the design of the logo CMI, not good enough for its exterior design. So I took out the front and rear KIA badge and replaced it with E logo infront (Stingers in Korea get this) and a larger Stinger script emblem for the rear. Now all my 4 wheel caps also E logo. But my steering wheel one still KIA badge (haven't found a nice one to replace with)  [laugh]

(I never hide that it's a KIA though, when people ask, in case anyone here misunderstand)  [:)]

FC's are pretty good too.. similar (in fact better) to my K5.
