e1_ang 1st Gear January 8, 2017 Share January 8, 2017 There seems to be no thread on blind spot sensor system, so I thought I start it so we all can learn from one another. This thread is for discussion on where to get one, not whether it's useful or not (that's a whole topic by itself ;-) ) It seems to me it's not easily available in Singapore. I have not found a shop that supplies any model. There are many online (e.g. http://list.qoo10.sg/item/CRIMESTOPPER-SAFETYPLUS-TM-UNIVERSAL-FRONT-REAR-BLIND-SPOT-DETECTION/445644618, http://list.qoo10.sg/item/BOYO-VTBSD1-BLIND-SPOT-DETECTION-MICROWAVE-RADAR/487327327) but I'd like to see the item first before buying. Seems like http://www.crimestopper.com/products/safety/collision-avoidance/blind-spot-detection/bsd-754 is available based on the vendors here If you know the shop that supplies it, and have experienced on any of the model, kindly share here. Thanks in advance e1 ↡ Advertisement

1fast1 Supersonic January 9, 2017 Share January 9, 2017 I think we should be working toward less driver aids, not more. My Merc pisses me off with the collision warning beeps (and that idiotic red triangle) every time!

Can't praise you yet. Luckily the M BMWs don't have this issue. I think they know that Mercs, even the sports/super car types are driven by Ah Peks. Watwheels Supersonic January 9, 2017 Share January 9, 2017 If this is useful many drivers will want one. Since you have already mentioned it's not easy to find it at retail shop or from any installer your only option is to get it online and find a willing installer. Take the risk at your on expense. For me, I find that anything that has warning lights and sound is very distracting/annoying when it's on all the time. It's not like it will only activate when you switch on your signal indicators. It's only a warning indicator it doesn't gives you more information so I find it rather pointless. End of the day you still rely on your eyes to check. You got to deal with motorcycles speeding inbetween lanes. Other vehicles coming too close for comfort. You will find it more annoying dan useful. Watwheels Supersonic January 9, 2017 Share January 9, 2017 This reminds me of the early days of reverse sensors when ppl use them. They rely on the beeping frequncy to do the estimation but still ppl dent their rear bumper on occasions. It's only when the reverse camera come along that the system becomes more practical to the driver. But dan this system is only activated when you shift into reverse. The blind spot system doesn't switch off when you are not using it.
inlinesix Hypersonic January 9, 2017 Share January 9, 2017 Due to position of reverse sensor, my car always give false reading.

My Merc pisses me off with the collision warning beeps (and that idiotic red triangle) every time! With your driving pattern to save Petrol, you do not even need brake! totally agreee. My Merc pisses me off with the collision warning beeps (and that idiotic red triangle) every time! turn off the Parking Radar helps stop that useless beeping especially in crowded areas where people like to walk near the car... ↡ Advertisement
