I grew up with Lau Fu Zi.

Always read at barber shops while waiting for my turn.

Same here bro and my mom always wonder why I'm so eager to visit the barbershop.

me too but I also read and chuckled during the haircut.

I learned my elementary Chinese from those comic books.

R.I.P. Mr Alfonso, the great creator of fun Chinese comic. Your legendary creation will stand the test of time.

I remember watching the Lau Fu Zi movie when I was very young.

I only recall this comic often revolves around gawking at women. Either LFZ or Dafansu often gotten slap.

I think one bro here has a nickname of Dafansu.

Icons of my youth dying off. ..

Kids now only know

Dora, bubbles guppies, monster machine, paw patrol.

Last time also have Peanuts comic strip. Then when primary school is Tin Tin.

But only LFZ was funny & comical.

And amazingly, I can understand the humour as a young kid before I learnt to read text.

2017's first victim. [smallcry]  But at least he lived to a ripe old age.

I used to read Lao Fu Zi a lot when I was a kid also. Sometimes I don't understand the Chinese 'fan ti' (Traditional) words, but I can more or less guess from his drawings.

He brought plenty of joy to many people. Truly a great man.  :a-good:

Grew up reading the comics and will always laugh, whether loudly or inside the heart :)

Had a collection but lost those during moving house ...

RIP to the old master ... and he passed away peacefully knowing that his son will continue his work in Lao Fu Zi :)

This thread seems to be for uncles (and aunties) like us... I enjoyed reading 老夫子 so much that I can forgo watching nice movies during CNY gathering at relative's place during my younger days. And reading his comic is just like watching Charlie Chaplin and Mr. Bean, you will laugh out from the heart.

Sad to hear about his passing. A great man of his own. [thumbsup]
