Kar_lover Supercharged February 1, 2017 Share February 1, 2017 (edited) I'm not sure that the Vezel is that good and compelling... especially going by the number of drivers who complain about the noise level after a year of driving the car as well as the lack of power. Not sure abt the noise but as far as power goes, both my colleague and I have come across several vezels that can accelerate very well - and without any puff of smoke coming out from their exhaust. And we both have TC cars. Edited February 1, 2017 by Kar_lover ↡ Advertisement

If not, really not that fast by today's standards.

I didn't say lose lah haha. Just saying that compared to other cars that are the same as vezel (i.e. Cat A cars), the vezels acquitted themselves well. Seems like there is some misunderstanding. I am driving Veloster TC and my friend is 2L A4. We accelerate as per normal and our "normal acceleration" would usually leave non-TC Jap/Korean cars quite far away. But we met some Vezels that seemed comfortable keeping up with us or in cases where they were in front of us, they got off the line well and were not holding us up at all. Thanks @teomingern and @theoldjaffa, I understand the risk associated with PI (delivery, recall, post-servicing, stripped down specs, etc) and its not for the faint hearted. However, sometimes it's still hard to justify the 25k difference between AD and PI, at least for Prius. That said, compare Prius (PI) and Niro (AD), the difference is 10k but they are totally different car. Thanks for point out about Kia's previous experience as well as the inferior battery of Niro. Will keep that in mind in my overall consideration. I also heard that C&C provide good service, but at the same time, they servicing cost is very expensive. Is there anyone with previous experience? Btw, what is B&B?

Btw, what is B&B? not too sure about servicing cost but it's understandable that AD is more expensive compared to 3rd party workshops. For hybrids, i will go back to AD for servicing due to the technical expertise they have. 10k difference in car price = 1k difference per year = $2.73 per day. Small amount to pay for the assurance of having AD support. If there ever is going to be any recall, you are covered too. B&B cars = Bread & Butter cars haha. lotsa jargon u can learn in MCF ;) happy hunting! do update on which car u choose eventually :)

fungyee77 5th Gear February 4, 2017 Share February 4, 2017 Chris Tan of Straits Times praised the Niro's entertaining drive today, on an unsolicited basis in (of all places!) his VW Tiguan review. "A recent example of a lesser car with a more entertaining drive would be the Kia Niro." http://www.straitstimes.com/lifestyle/motoring/trophy-tiguan
Leo72 6th Gear February 4, 2017 Share February 4, 2017 Well you've got to see how hard they actually accelerate... surely they rev past 4000 RPM lar... CVT Transmission cars will tend to accelerate slower than normal AT Cars. But if you know how to control the accelerator and know the point when the power transfer from the CVT to the wheel is, then you can accelerate quite fast without ramping up your RPM.

FuriousX Neutral Newbie February 5, 2017 Share February 5, 2017 Yesterday went test-drive Niro & K3 SX, other than Niro's FC I won't be looking at this car. The cons of Niro against K3 - Don't have the feel of driving a SUV - Built in feathers is lesser than K3 SX - Poor soundproof from the outside, - Lots of sound feedback in the rear seat, tolhe most noisy car she ever take(Feedback from wife) And some updates with the next stock patch will be in June and Battery warranty is unlimited 10 years. So ended up committed a K3 SX yesterday....

So ended up committed a K3 SX yesterday.... Perhaps you were on the sports mode all the way. That gives quite a bit of roar. Not sure about road noise though...it's supposed to be on quiet tires But why do you say built in features is less than the k3 sx? Rain sensing wipers, moon roof? Doesn't drive like suv is true though... Wished it came with 18" wheels which would make it higher off the ground. The 16 " are a little puny but give good fuel economy...
