COE Bidding - 2nd Round of December 2016

Agree with you, it was a time waster, locked in for 6 bids, that is 3 mth, customers cannot move, have all the downside & risks, dealers don have to deliver, no penalty; this is a bad system for customers, dealers are taking advantage of these loop holes. 

What is the latest price of Elantra basic trim ? 

 

I do agree that this is a bad system for customers, as dealers can always choose to maximize their profit, but customers cannot. If you buy too cheap, dealers simply cancel the order and buyers have to waste 3 months.

I think those 83k elantra buyers are now allowed to bid for the next round. KMC cancels all orders which finished 6 bids in this round.

 

Those who got their order cancelled by KMC, will never bother to go back to KMC.  

 

So in the end, who loses?  it's KMC.

Over at the elantra forum.Someone got it at 90k+ at the recent car show during nov with the coe 52k++. With the current COE. Probably 89k to 91k should able to get.

When I went to kmc,already miss the 83k elantra.Was offer 88k tier 3,91K tier 2 and 93k or 94k tier 1.

I think they advertise low so to attach people go to show room.At least there is a chance to do business.

There were too many speculation that COE is going to drop in big margin in 2016 and thus they are providing this promo. Could me a mis-calculation on KMC side. Unrealistic promo should not be there at all. Dealers are selling and buying everyday, they should know better is the price feasible.

It's a contract. If I tell you that that I won't be able to bid as high because you didn't pay me that much, then it's an open deal.

No hidden parts and both dealer and buyer go in knowing that this is what is on the table.

Like one of the SE from other company told me.We can advertise low but can you get your Coe?

Car got no discount (unless omv drop)because of company overhead.Only Coe discount.

i am not trying to defend  KMC but the word "there is very slim chance to get elantra " may not be correct. I supposed those who did not get it are those who booked using the tier 3 package. Those who booked under tier 1 and some tier 2 should have gotten their COEs. The tier 3 buyers should(my assumption)  have been told  upfront about tier 3 being a non guranteed package. Those who choose tier 3 should know their odds. And to be fair to KMC, they are in fact few of the ADs to provide a very cheap option for people to buy car. Unfortunately COE didnt come down to a level that they had anticipated.At 83k with a COE price of 50k currently, no way they could make profit.

Tier 1 is guarantee but the price is not attractive.If I sign,I will sign tier 2.

Like I mention,they put low price so you will come and have a look,so there is chance to do business.

Think if the ADs want to deliver by CNY, they might have missed the boat already cos I doubt if Jan COE will come down. Maybe March onwards possible but unlikely this 2mths as plenty of backlog to clear plus Motor Show.

I guess kmc only lose a very small number of customer that doesnt affect their business much. Thats why they would offered such package to buyers. If AD really want to close deal with buyers, dont think they will offered such package lo.

I dont see anything wrong for him to kpkb. This incident made everyone in the forum learnt about how KMC doing the business. He voiced his own displeasure to KMC and no one else right? Different views and opinion shared being discussed on the forum. Some wish to see the fall of COE so that car is cheaper and some wish for coe to rise so that everyone get carrot chop to buy a expensive car together.

 

He didnt get his car and his 3 month wasted and didnt affect anyone except himself..
