Watwheels Supersonic November 21, 2016 Share November 21, 2016 Dunno tall or short, fat or skinny. I would say the current Altis has good & spacious rear legroom. Child Seats that don't take up too much space is the Maxi-Cosi Rodi. Just go to the Baby Hyperstore at Kaki Bukit to browse. I go this model there. It's not isofix so you can shift a bit here and there. With isofix not much shifting you can do. I'm like you... want compact child seats that do not take up too much space. ↡ Advertisement

Or are there any particular child seats which offer good protection for the kids and at the same time not very bulky? Thanks for all constructive inputs! You need either very small baby seats or a very wide car. Sylphy and Altis are both spacious from a legroom perspective, but not very wide. In that class, standard width is 1750 to 1780 for Japanese cars. Hyundai/Kia are slightly wider at 1780 (K3) to 1800 (Elantra). In the large sedan category, the width range is 1820 to 1865, again with the Japanese on the narrow end (Camry 1825/Teana 1830/Mazda 6 1840) and Koreans at the wide end of the range (K5 1860/Sonata 1865). Long story short, after extensive research, I gave up and got a 7 seater...

Xjapan 1st Gear November 21, 2016 Author Share November 21, 2016 thanks for the constructive inputs so far. my bad i didn't state in my first post that i am trying to avoid mpv if possible. budget wise, i am definitely not in a market for vellfire, alphard and the likes. If i have, I think my decision is clear. i am looking at 10k+ (less than 11k, not 10+k (10-19k), alot of diff) depre kind of cars. of cos if it is not possible, then i would have to relook into my budget and family arrangements. brand new or 2nd hand, i think at the moment both are possible, just looking at the available options. Mkl22 Supersonic November 21, 2016 Share November 21, 2016 I drove a Suzuki Liana with 2 child seats and 1 adult in the rear. Used combi cocoro seats. If it can fit the Liana. It can fit any car and be comfy. Liana was one of the rarer budget cars with 3pt belts for all seats. The adult was on one side and the 2 seats together
