Since this is car forum, anyone remembers the days when flyovers were being built, and there were incessant rumours that young kids were being caught and beheaded and the skulls used to prop up the flyovers or else they would collapse?

 

I remember it when the Toa Payoh flyover (from TP central out towards Jalan Toa Payoh towards police academy) was being built.

 

My mother kept telling me not to follow anybody and quickly go home after school...

 

Till now still wondered how those rumours came about...

Peninsula 1st level got 1 Mohammad Ishak jeans shop.....they sell mostly Levis and can bargain. Red tab from $45 and bargain down to $38. Then suddenly Levis became the trend and price skyrocketted. The mats went back to Wrangler and Lois.....

Hahaha.....i had cowboy boots and corduroys too! I even had a cowboy shirt. All bought in Peninsula. There was a Chinese shop selling Raybans and thats where i got my 1st Rayban sunnies back in the 80s. That time mat rocks wear Raybans 2 hide their redden eyes that was a telltale sign of smoking marijuana....

I remember seeing a drug addicted long haired guy when I was young, he was walking unsteadily at the street. My mum told me he took drugs. Anyway drugs was common then. 2 of my relatives took drugs and went to jail. One quit successfully after release while the other still keep taking until my uncle disowned him. He should be 50s now, never heard from him since 30 years ago.

I have many friends like that when i was young. Some take care of their long hair better than girls...
