Eight people injured, car topples traffic light in Bugis accident

 

 

SINGAPORE - Eight people were injured in a serious car crash at the junction of Jalan Sultan and Victoria Street on Sunday (Dec 11) morning.

 

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the accident at about 8.15am.

 

Seven people were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital and one to Singapore General Hospital.

 

Four are understood to be seriously injured.

 

Photos in Lianhe Wanbao showed a grey car that had crashed into a traffic light, and a black MPV that was badly damaged.

 

It is understood that the eight people injured include one pedestrian, the driver of the grey car and six passengers, also from the grey car.

 

The pedestrian is believed to be a 71-year-old woman.

 

One of the cars was travelling on Victoria Street while the other was on Jalan Sultan when the accident happened. It is understood that the grey car hit the right side of the black car at the junction.

 

After the impact, one of the cars then hit the pedestrian.

 

SCDF sent one fire engine, one Red Rhino, five ambulances and two support vehicles to the scene.

I remember 10 years ++ back driving in Singapore is not as stressful as now.

Very often we encounter rash or provocation act from other road users even pedestrains.

We have to accept this as part of life and learn to be graceful and patience.

Just do what is right and when the time comes the truth will eventually be out.

 

For the Chevy indeed he was very lucky no accident occured.

I agree, now life is stressful even having more kids. Last time, I made mistake people shake hand and call it off. Now made mistake, sure kena cyber Attack, media harass and newspaper headline!!! Small matter become head news!! I still remember one of my great teacher taught me, focus on building better life not dwell with small ugly spot which is not important in your life.

The driver of the grey car is in deep shit, overloaded.

The junctions closer to Bugis has red light cameras.

 

This one may not have. I not too sure.

 

Both cars were on different roads so likely one car beat red light here.
