hi - did you make use of the CLA180 for free upgrade CLA200 promo?

Other than the engine tune and Keyless Go for CLA200 (vs CLA180), any idea what other differences are there between the 2?

 I bought CLA 180.

During the time I bought CLA 200 is not available so the SE did not offer me.

The main diff is the engine were tuned. CLA 180 also got Keyless Go.

Thanks. Trying to assess if the price difference between the 2 is worth to pay for.

If I'm not wrong CLA180 does not have Keyless Go but only Keyless Start.

Hi Yaloryalor..when are you collecting your ride?

Btw, keen to find out what clause come with the free upgrade to CLA-200 when you purchase CLA-180 also. Anyone know?

I collected mid last year. I still need to press the key to unlock the door. Then push the button to start the car.

It's about 10k difference, and apart from the power, there are a few more features.

Worth it if it's in your budget..

I can share my rep if you need, cheers.

Thanks all for the clarification!

Am now torn amongst the following choices: CLA200, A4, C180. This thread might not be appropriate for A4 but focusing on the equipment level for CLA and C, seems like there are more + for CLA than C – 18” vs 17” wheels; Apple Carplay; 8” vs 7” screen. In addition, the current model CLA is the recent FL model whilst understand that C is due for FL later this year. One of the + points for C will be the 9G gearbox.

Both cars are different enough that you have to differentiate them..

The C Class is for more mature drivers IMO, as you can put adults in the rear easily.

It has better finish, and less NVH.

The CLA appeals to the younger driver who is coming to Merc. Think of it as a A Class with a boot..

Wasn't the C Class facelifted last year?

A4, C and 3-er similar platform size.

But CLA is one grade down ... more cramped inside too.

Not Apple to Apple compario.

For me at least, the RWD C will be the clincher, over an FWD CLA. The driving feel and handling round bends would be different.

Then go with feel.

Which do you see yourself driving?

Which is more "you"?

Which one will you turn back to look after you parked the car?

Which one will make you happier when you walk towards it after a hard day's work?

No one here can tell you what to choose except yourself :D

There is a typcial 10k gap between CLA180 and 200 as therock says but for some reason, I was offered the CLA200 at the same net price as the CLA180 in Nov last year. So worth checking if that kind of promo still exists or if the price gap between the two is narrow enough to make it worth the additional power.

Ha ha! Know how you feel!  [laugh]  I went though all that hand wringing last year! I test drove the CLA180, CLA200 and C180. Decided to go with the C180 eventually for the ride quality, handling and spaciousness.  CLA ride felt harder since it is meant to be sportier and my head was touching the roof in the rear passenger seat. Also  I used to drive a 3 series so I like RWD. But the CLA definitely has a more sporty look than the C180 which is executive sedan like.  If you have not already done so, you can check out the reviews on all these models.  Good hunting!

Thanks all for the feedback! This is for my other half and yes, she ultimately has to make the decision but wanted to get POVs if someone was in the similar position.

For me, I will turn back and look at my car especially the butt [laugh] which the F32 and more recently the G30 has followed its design.

Wife's car? - I suspect you are <40, so I put my money on the CLA180 ;)

But for an uncle like me, I like the C 180.

But I will wait for a German made version, and I will wait for my wallet to grow in size first... :)

After all, I am a MMB - Marginal Merc Buyer  [laugh]

Have u guys tried this website?

http://carinfo.kiev.ua/cars/vin/mercedes/vin_check

Just put in your chassis number from lta website and it will show u lots of info about your car.

One question I have is that what does the delivery date shows? Mine shows July 2016 which is weird. I thought the cla180 facelift model was launched in Singapore oct 2016.

Very likely to be the date it is shipped from factory.  Even though FL might be launched in Oct 16, stock must be readily available.

Dunno..is the website legitimate, and are vehicles chasis and engine number confidential?

Similar to our concerns registering our car details with Malaysian customs.. afraid the info can be used to clone our cars elsewhere..
