Iirc, it can retract when not in use. So not so ugly most of the time. This looks like a CnC unit. So it’s prob factory.

Usually the Merc reverse camera can retract when not in use. Some of them are hidden in the round Merc emblem.

Advantage is after heavy rain, the camera image is still clear

Disadvantage is that when you have a motor actuator.... after a while it may fail on you. One more easily fail part to worry about.

But well, its a merc, cannot be too easy or cheap for the owner right?

 Reverse camera will be retracted when not in use, if any cars come too close at MB with 360 degree cam in traffic stop it will trigger the sensor to activate all camera. 

I think MB now all reverse cameras are retractable, for coupe series the reverse camera at rear emblem it will tilt 45 degree when rear camera activated.

Camera will retract and 360 camera assist will switch off if speed go beyond 25 kmh

No issues with how it looks - it’s just a camera 

but retractable items require a motor and that’s one more expensive item to repair when the motor malfunctions.. 

just like retractable steering wheels 

each has its merits and supporters ..

So far haven't got a retractable steering wheel failing on me. Air con vent actuators, yes.

US already selling for long time.

Tan Chong mentioned they will not be bringing in the new X-Trail already. The only and probably last ICE car they have would be the new QQ with mild hybrid. They will only sell the models with e-power from now on.

Driving GLB180 C&C now. 

Any place in SG that can tune up the engine (underpowered)?

Also want to add blind spot detection on side mirrors.

bring your GLB 180 back to cycle or you can see mr james here ..

change to the GLB 35 and both issues painlessly resolved .. more power plus have blind spot monitor .. 🤪

but on a more serious note, did you not test drive the GLB before buying? didnt notice the "lack of power" from the 1.3 or lack of blind spot monitor?

I don't know if it's a good idea to 'tune' up the 1.3l turbo from Renault... given their past outing with the 1.2l engine used in the Qashqai, and the issues with their engine, it may not be possible to stress this engine as much..

Just step harder on the pedal.... I am sure if 5k or 6k RPM the power will be adequate. No need to tune.
