And another that does it in more than 11s is zippy?

not about standalone fast or slow but rather the comparison feeling..how come got such feeling comparing both where the spec clearly indicate altis should be the slower one

My MIL has a Corolla, it's a lovely spacious car, but my bread van is definitely faster and feels that way too :)

AD will ask you change together...

A180 spec wise 10 to 100kmlh is about 8+ sec whereas a altis maybe over 10sec.. but then the pick up at traffic light is different.. altis seems much faster .

Cos NA vs turbo, I think NA has a 1 sec advantage while the turbo is spooling?

Cos I also lose to most cars in the first 2 gears.

Have to engage Sport to get the 8.something 0-100. and need to floor the gas somemore.

Normally in Comfort mode, light right foot, of course feel slower than any other cars/lorry/van...

Just sent car for 30k service; with auto start/stop not working, replace only main battery, under warranty (no further warranty for this replacement. Auxiliary battery no change.

Supersonic

Maybe. But most of the time, those who can afford conti cars will have experiences owning and driving several conti brands. So there is still chance that people will share more objectively. Then, there will also be some who own one or two conti brands at the same time.

"Towkay" (looking) or not is fine. Car designs are subjective.

Hope to learn from the gurus here:)

Guess it depends on which model of conti car. Entry level badge buyer usually first timer coming from jap or korean B&B car

LOL no lah Mercy always understate their specs. A180 surely faster than the 8+ sec specs they put on paper. Maybe it's the expectation of the A180 is much higher therefore there's a disappointment when almost matched by a BNB car like Altis. However, when sports mode is on, even a CLA180 would fly.

122bhp but 200 nm of torque = fast 0-60kph

I saw an independent test that claims it to be 9.6sec

Let suggest to shift gear at max torque of 200NM @ 4k RPM

Gear 1: 30km/h @ 4k RPM

Gear 2: 45km/h @ 4k RPM

Gear 3: 75km/h @ 4k RPM

Gear 4: 100km/h @ 4k RPM

Sure, will do so soon thanks [thumbsup]

So bro

What did you decide on?

An Asian made car will always be priced that much lower, and there will always be a badge factor, but the included equipment on the most basic A or B Class is quite comprehensive.

Mercs are also known to be pretty safe. All the best with your decision. But if you want to save and go for VFM, there are better choices than Premium Conti makes.

Pardon me.  What does "VFM" stand for?  I haven't really decided.  May check out the cars at the showroom over the weekend:)
